I went to the drag strip and got a new best time.

13.422 @ 101.89 with a 60' of 1.932

Something tells me that Brian was checking to see how fast he could turn onto the return road at the end of the pass..... tongue.gif

Did the same thing last Sunday. Twice a year my local F-Body club has a Shootout, that's bout the only time I get to the strip now. The Shootouts have spoiled me as we rent the track and generally have around 100 cars there. That allows plenty of passes.

It is pretty fun to do every once in a while. thumbup.gif

A 1.9 60 foot makes me think that you had grip and the pass was "well driven". I guess I'm just surprised that you only trapped 101.xx on that pass. My only pass in my 2002 was a 14.04 @ 102.5 with a 2.6 60 foot and granny shifting each gear. I guess there is a HP difference that is greater than I thought between the cars (based on trap speed and my less than aggressive driving style). I'm guessing that you were ringing "most of it" out of your combination to get those numbers. I really didn't think the LS1 cars were that much faster in the real world (non magazine test times). Of course, I don't go to the strip these days. It's too far away and to spend 3 hours for 2 runs is worse than all day at an autocross for 4 runs (as more people have joined our local chapter, I've been less interested in running with them....bummer).

13.4 is a nice run!

There maybe some left on the table - but I won't be going to look for it.

You are right - the LS1 has more sack to it.

I'll try to get some speed parts this winter on the car and then a good tune with a wide band O2. I'll give it a good go at it then.

That 13.422 run was a pretty good one. And my drag racer friends coached me a little cause I am not the best driver in the world. I tached 6500 at the line and the car hooked up pretty well. If you listen real close you can hear second gear chirp the tires. I made each shift at 63-6500 and I crossed the line in 3rd at about 6500.

The car has LCA, and PHB. Stock everywhere else. Stock intake, stock exhaust manifolds with stock ypip and 2 cats. The motor is stock with a tune from Scott Racing and Performance (http://www.ts-performance.com). Tracy Scott is a sponsor for FastFreaks.com.

I went to his shop yesturday and took pics:

He is working on many cool projects....

That last pic of the Impala.... It is a 900 horsepower LT1. It broke the last dyno it was on.

You reved a stock LT1 (which bone stock valvetrain) to 6500? blink.gif

yeah... It is the opti I am more worried about.

Fortunately I don't get any scary feeling when revving that high. No ticks, no knocks, no noise. Motor idles smooth.

It'll go someday - I just hope not soon.

The LT1 stock valve train isn't any slouch either.

The guy I run against has an LS1 and has about 310 hp at the wheels. I'm guessing I probably have about 250 or so at the wheels. So yea, 60hp makes a tremendous difference in mph at the end of the quarter.

Does anyone know where a LT4 is???? biggrin.gif

LT4 Firehawk, here on the board said his LT4 lays down about 311 RWHP.

Yea, I guess I didn't realize it was 60 hp. My "easy pass" had a 102.5 mph trap and I'm sure there was a bunch left on the table. By Brian's 60 foot and such, I'd think he use most all of it. I just didn't realize there was really that large of a difference in the 2 cars. I was surprised by that.
