I'm going to look at a '95 Formula T56 to possibly turn into a future track car.
Can any one tell me how much it would weight stripped down?
Non-essentials removed, ie. no interior, air bags, AC system, spare tire... Would not include roll cage or other safety items either but would have front seats & steering wheel, and stock glass.

See sig for car.

I weigh about 200lbs. With me in it, in full safety gear and about 3/4 tank of fuel, this car weight 3664. Remember, this includes a very heavy cage and fire extinguisher... I am sure that this is not what you want to hear.

Right now I'm right at 3300lbs without me and a 1/4 tank of fuel. No cage, so that would add around 75-100lbs. BUT, I'm getting ready to loose about 75-100 lbs {Ultra Shield seat, remove airbags, aftermarket steering wheel, light battery, loosing the sound deadening uder the carpet and a few more nik-knack things. The car isn't really all that stripped. I still have air, cruise, and a radio, yada, yada. There are still plenty of places to lose weight.

I knew a guy who claimed he was able to get the car down to around 2900lbs. His car was stripped completely. He had a cage and lexan windows all around, plus I think he had some body pieces that were made of plastic. His car had gone through a complete overhaul and was on it's second engine, it was the most bare engine bay I've ever seen. He had alot of $$$ in the car.

Morgan, take a look at some of our weight loss threads here. They'll give you a good idea. If keeping stock glass means you'll be keeping your door interiors and side windows, that's a killer. Removing that stuff on mine was about 80 lbs. IIRC. Assuming you do something like mine, except keep your front glass, you should be able to hit 3000 lbs. car-only weight without too much trouble, especially without a roll cage.
