Unbalanced Engineering
Hey All,

I am adding a component weights section to the Unbalanced Engineering website. Therefore, I would ask all of you that have any weights of interest for both stock and aftermarket components to email me with them so I can add them to the page. I'm interested in everything from wheels and swaybars to engine components.

The weights must be accurate, so please nothing from the old spring bathroom scale. Please include the year/make/model of the component as well. Thanks!

His car is heavy! My SS with 4 17x11 and 317/35/17 Kumho Ecsta V700's was 3484 pounds. I have the ST 35 front bar and the bolt on SLP SFC's as well.

Hey Tom,

Thanks for that tip. Some of those will be useful, but many don't list a year or even LS1 vs. LT1. Hey Mike, I'm actually looking for weights of individual components. Thanks.

Jason,

I have a whole table full of parts that have been yanked. Maybe sometime over the weekend I will get a chance to weigh some of them.

I'm just curious, how far off is a digital bathroom scale anyway...?
(reads in 1/2 lb increments and self zeros on startup)

I've weighed a few parts (seats, rotors, crank pulley, etc.) but if the numbers are no good, then I'll just keep them to myself. smile.gif

yea, not sure if the digital scale is right..... it says that i'm 215lbs..... when I KNOW I'm 175lbs ( bs.gif )

I certainly don't mind weights digital bathroom scale, I just didn't want weights from an old spring bathroom scale.

The only parts I've weighed individually was my AFS polished 17x11's with 50mm offset and my stock wheels. They 22.5 lbs each and my stock painted 10 spoke 17x9's are 20.5 lbs each. Both were weighed without valve stems or balancing weights and with center caps.

Thanks Mike. I'll add those in.

OK. Here are some of the weights of parts that I haven't sold yet or just sold and shipped. I weighed these on a small kitchen scale, so I'm not going to judge the accuracy.

Dome light 6 oz.
Bare door panel 7 lb. 8 oz. (each)
Rear seat speaker 2 lb. 9 oz. (each)
Hoses from thermostat to heate core 1 lb. 12 oz.
Antenna brace/Spare tire bracket 1 lb.
Air pump & hoses 8 lb. 4 oz.
Air bag sensor (center console) 1 lb. 4 oz.
Amp 2 lb. 11 oz.
Head unit (Monsoon CD) 4 lb. 6 oz.
HVAC knobs 14 oz.
Trunk speakers 1 lb. 3 oz. (each)
Front passenger seat belts 3 lb. 2 oz.
Glovebox 2 lb. 8 oz.
Passenger side knee panel 1 lb. 2 oz.
"Camaro" dash trim 1 lb.
Center dash support (lower) 9 oz.
Antenna brace 8 oz.
Large one-piece dash vent (behind) 5 lbs.
Radio speaker wiring (w/o shielding) 4 lbs.

That's all I have for now. Jason, are you going to compile a list of everything? The little stuff adds up!

Later,
Dennis

I have a complete list, but I'm in the process of determining the best way to set it up for easy use via the website. Thanks!
