We need a few more people to join the MidAtlantic F-Body "beginning of the year bash" kart event... we need a minimum of 12 people, and right now, I only have 10 people verified... So, I'm sending this notice out to any F-body people, MAFB or not. smile.gif

When : January 29th, racing starts at 1:00PM, participants should be on site by 12:30PM.

Where : Allsports GP, Sterling, VA (northern VA)

What : Sprint Race Format (5 races for each driver, 10 laps, drivers will be randomly assigned to grid position and race)

Cost : $75

Why : 'Cause it's the beginning of the year, and we want to have some fun. smile.gif beerchug.gif

The MAFB is a group of motorsports-oriented F-body owners, mostly in the Maryland, Virginia and North Carolina areas, but we also have NJ, Pennsylvania and New York "members." There's also a party after the karting, in Ijamsville, MD and a dyno day on Friday... email me privately for more information about the party, the dyno or the karting. smile.gif

Hey, Gary, if you can make it, just shoot me an email by the end of the week. Or, just show up no later than 12:30 on Saturday. You know where it is, right?

I WISH he had completed that 4th run just to see what he would have gotten!!! I'll bet it would have been within a few seconds of my times!!!

Hey Karen, It looks like I am going to make it up so I should be there to get my but kicked. smile.gif

Is it too late to get in? I'm 407 miles away. But my parents live in Martinsburg, WV. I might try to convince my wife that we should go home this weekend, then I could run down for Saturday.

Just considering options at this point. If there are no openings, it makes it easy, but it's a thought.

My kid's getting closer. He usually ran about 1.5 seconds off my times last year. I actually look forward to the day when he beats me. It shouldn't be too long.

It won't be too long before Matthew beats me! I remember Mario talking once about the first time Michael beat him and how proud he was. I'm excited for Matthew, I hope he's MUCH better than I was, he just wants to race cars, that's all he wants to do.

Update.

Karen, let me know. I mentioned it to my wife, she was on call, she called back to say she switched her on call and took monday off (as did I...now) and she is planning to be "home" (both of our familys live back that way) for the weekend. So, it is looking like I just might make this thing after all.

I'll pack a helmet.

Let me know if it's too late to sign up.

I wish I could go... mad.gif

On the other hand... I get to go and test my new ride on Sunday. A little private testing... ph34r.gif 90+hp from a new Rotax 493, 1000 lbs, no clutch tongue.gif , and a brand new stiffened up chassis.

Can't wait to start running! We have a points event on March 13 and the first divisional on March 19-20 at Jacksonville.

There's definitely spots open. It's a minimum of 12 people for the $75 price. There's no upward limit. So if you wanna come on out, that would be awesome! You can privately email me for more info if you want.

See you there, Neil and Gary! smile.gif

99% chance I'm "there" (you never know). The plan is to head to Martinsburg on Friday night. Drive down on Saturday morning. Race with the misfits (and I'm sure a great time will be had by all), drive back to my parents. Get up Sunday and drive home.

Send me the info trackbird at columbus.rr.com

Thanks!

Congrats to GaryK, who kicked our collective rears to take the overall win in the karting. smile.gif patred managed to stay on the podium again this year, with a respectable third place finish. smile.gif

I'll have to see if anyone's posted pics yet. biggrin.gif

I forgot to post sooner. Due to concerns about the weather between VA and OH on Sunday (to travel home), I didn't make it (as you probably figured out). Please post pics, at least I can see what I missed (my helmet is still in the back of the Camaro in my helmet bag where I was getting ready to come).
