i just went karting for the first time tonight at HIK, which used to be davy jones' kartzone. i was wondering if any other houston guys had ever been there, and if they remembered their times. i haven't had the opportunity to run my car at all at any sort of an event, so this one karting experience is the only benchmark i got as far as how quick/slow i might be against some of you all....

it's basically at 59 and fountainview. it's actually on a street called skyline, which hits fountainview near 59.

if coming from 59, exit fountainview, turn on fountainview to head towards richmond, and i believe skyline is the first or second left that you can take. take skyline down for, i think, just over a block or so, and it'll be on the left.

ok...just checked the website myself, and i didn't see an address anywhere on there....i could be blind, its possible. but so yeah, if you need any more info. just lemme know.

I just dug up an old time sheet, my best lap was a 26.487. I friend ran a 26.214 during the same race, and he runs there more often than I do. What was your time?

Just go out the South-worst Frwy., exit Fountainview, look for Ferraris of Houston and turn right on E. Greenridge just befor the dealership. Skyline is the first street you come to, turn left and HIK will be on your left.

There is also a new track in town. Track 21 up near Bear Creek Park. Longer track, more powerful karts. I have not been yet, but I am looking for an excuse to go.

i've heard that they've had two different track layouts though, and i don't know how long its been since the change.....i heard the old layout was a bit faster. so i dunno, depending on how old your time sheet is, if we even ran on the same track.
