Greetings,
I just posted in here that I won't get into politics, but I feel I need to clear my name.
I was called up by the Admins at LS1.COM (I had resigned from moderator a few months back) to replace Mitch as mod in the AX forum after he quit.
As a mod, my first job is "damage control". I wanted to keep the racers together and not split off into 20 different directions. So according the LS1.COM rules, I edited references to competing boards AFTER I notified the writer what I was going to do. That is what a moderator does. The dirty work.
The coilover thread was fun. Lou wanted the thread deleted and I refused. Finally he went over my head to the admins, so I moved it to the Archives.
I did not stun, ban, or punish anyone in that forum. But I did field hundreds of PM's and Emails over the subject. It sucked.
So hate me if you like. Got a lot of folk throwing it my way lately.

My guess is you would have done the same thing if in my shoes.
PS - I tried REAL hard to get Mitch back as Mod in there. But the admins at the board refused multiple requests. My goal was to put out the fires, get Mitch back, then resign again. It just didn't work that way.
McRat, you did a hell of a great job... I really enjoyed working with you.
I know exactly what you feel... because we were in the same battle... but I guess it didn't work out as we wished... maybe we like the wishful thinking part.
It's not easy being a mod and letting things go when they are borderline.
I try to always let all the info available, while not breaking any rules... but sometimes, that makes people not too happy... part of the game, I guess.
I like the respect from this board... I think it falls down to the racers respect.
