I hate these kinds of stupid subjective debates but what I have here is another person that's thrown parts at their car and now claims it "handles"....

Anybody actually have any real experience or data with Tbirds? I find it hard to believe they could stick with an Fbody on a road course.

Somebody had one during OLOA a couple yrs back that finished in the top 15. He is a very capable driver and a supercharged 302 helped. But I think he got rid of it because it was kinda Heavy rotf.gif Later John

LOL.

Well it has been suggested to me in that thread above that the Tbird is only "just a little bit heavier" than an f-body. The guy loves using subjective terminology. Just a little bit = what, probably 400 lbs?

I've driven a T-bird supercoupe. Very fun car, but very heavy. A freind of mine autocrossed one, with a lot of tire it could do OK, but everyones right it's heavy. I think they are around 3800lbs.

My opinion? Save your breath. Let them believe whatever they want. Hell if they're that dilusional I suggest taking advantage of it. Make some pretty powdercoated parts that don't help any and sell them for a tidy profit. Actually I think thats how BMR got started... laugh.gif

The T-birds/Cougars are underpowered, overweight pigs. I'm sure they are nice cruisers but a stock Miata would be faster around a road/auto-x course.
