I'm going, who else is?

I'm most likely in. Going to wait until next week or maybe even the week after though. I don't want anything bad to pop up on the car and not be able to get a refund.

I will be there. I need to get my trans fixed and tires yet. I worked on the spare trans the other night but ran into some problems and had to take it apart again.

I think I read on NASA's website that you can still get a refund within 3 days after the event? Does that sound right?

Pretty sure that's for racers, Bryan. I read it a couple of days ago and thought I read HPDE had to give a weeks notice prior to the event. I could be wrong, but that's what stuck in my head.

That sucks that you had to take it apart again. Did you figure out why the first one was sticking in 3rd?

Just want to give everyone a heads up about the traffic around Autobahn on the 9th-10th.

That same weekend is the Busch/Nextel Cup race at Chicagoland Speedway.

Depending on which direction you are coming from, you may be redirected.

If you are coming from the New Lenox [east of RT53 on Laraway Rd], you will not be able to take Laraway Rd directly west to RT53. They block traffic before RT53 as an entrance to parking for the back straight of Chicagoland.

Also, get there early/on-time or be prepared to sit in traffic on I80. Traffic usually backs up onto the highway each year if I remember the traffic report.

We usually get to Chicagoland around 7:30 and traffic is already stop-n-go down RT53.

Also, you will probably want to be stocked up on fuel and not have to make a run, because it won't be a quick one.

Hope this helps someone.

I posted this on www.nasaforums.com too but I'd rather not have someone miss it and get to the track too late.

Sorry to bug everyone, just trying to get the ball rolling.
