Several of you have mentioned you smoke cigars, I do three or four times a week. My favorites currenty are

Sounds as though you like a stronger flavored cigar. I prefer mine milder. The Ashton Monarch hooked me when I was in Las Vegas a few years back. Cheapest I can get those is a little under $7 at www.bestcigarprices.com. I was running low though, so I stopped by the cigar shop a few weeks ago and grabbed a Baccarat. I think they call it a Rothschild, it's a 5 x 50. Anyhow, I got a box of 25 for around $50, which is a real bargain. Smoked one last night, it was tastey all the way down until I just about needed a roach clip.

I think you'd like Avos, based upon your taste. I have also found the A. Fuente brand and Partagas' to be good.

For a real kick in the gut, try an Opus X. They're prohibitively expensive, but a truly great smoke. Just don't smoke it on an empty stomache.

I almost forgot the CAO criollo I like those as much as the Ashtons.

I had tried the Avo almost a year ago, when I first started smoking and they were too spicy, maybe I should give them another shot though.

A fuente is pleasant.

Never tried a Partagas although I've heard alot of good things about them, same goes with the Opus X, I'll grab a Partagas tonight and try it out.


The Baccarat is always nice, it was the cigar that popped my cherry I still enjoy it from time to time, the sugar glue they use gives an amazing sweet taste.






How does ordering Cigars online work out?
Are they ever dry/damaged when you get them?

My personal favorite is the Cohiba Sublimas. I'm not a huge cigar afficianado, but this is one fine tasting thing. Ahhh, the benefits of a Cuban wife and in-laws!

I tried the Partagas last time I picked up a stick and enjoyed it quite a bit. However I must say that one of my favorites right now is the CAO box pressed extrema. Of my all time favorite sticks, any of the Bohemians. They're old style cuban wrappers, great flavor, and only 5 bucks a smoke. My first smoke was an Ashton... can't even remember what kind... and damn if it wasn't a churchill too. After that I realized I like the Ashton Maduro much more. You guys have given me some ideas though, I'm going to give a try to both the Cohiba Robusto and the Opus X. I like a good sucker punch.

The cigars have always come in good condition, although they take a while for the base shipping, like a week. But the real seller for me is the price. I can buy, for instance, an Ashton in a 6 x 50 size at the local cigar shop for 11 or 12 bucks. I can buy a box and they're less than $7 each. Sure, I can afford to pay $4 or $5 more each time, but why the hell would I want to? Plus I like having a full humidor.

I frequently go and pick up an Ashton or a Cohiba, then I start to occasionally think about how much these things really are and wonder what the heck I'm doing It's still not near as expensive as the hobby I come here for though. :drive:

I like La Giannas. They aren't a strong smoke, but for a real occasional person like me, they fit the bill.

I've also had a real Cuban Romeo y Julieta that was very good. Always liked the Montecristo line too.
