Just what the topic asks, ordered my rodends, forgot to order the jam nuts, don't really want to pay another shipping and/or handling fee if I don't have to.

Can I use regular nuts from home depot or lowes, or do I need the jam nuts?

Well Home Depot will only have right hand thread nuts-which may or may not work out for you. As long as the size and pitch is equal you can use them. Just make sure they're a decent grade. I don't know what the grade requirements are for jamnuts. Heck my Home depot doesn't even stock bolts over 1/2"

Home Depot sucks for hardware. Lowes is much better, but you still have to watch the Grade carefully, or it will be junk.--You don't want your PHR coming off, breaking, or whatever.

I just said to hell with it and ponied up the money, just ordered them, don't want to be bothered hunting and then ordering them anyways. Plus I forgot to take into account the left and right hand threads, thanks for mentioning it.
thanks for the help guys.
