EDIT: 8/23 Update with more info see->>> http://kyfbodies.org/bash/

My local f-body car club ( http://www.kyfbodies.org/vb ) is putting on a autocross and drag racing event on Sept 10th at Beech Bend. You can usually get as many runs as you want on an f-body friendly course. I've been able to hot lap my car in the past.

No guarentees but last year my codriver (Pat Joyce) and I put 30 runs on my car or so. blink.gif You also would have time to make changes to your car between runs if you so wish.

You prosolo guys can also make some drag strip passes right next door.

More details to come as they are available.

Us "ProSolo" guys will be in Topeka at the "ProSolo Finale". Well most of us will be.

Remember bad to have events mid-September.....

They're mostly drag racers what do you expect? tongue.gif True I had forgotten about that.

Anyways here's the info page with more info soon to come.

The $$$ per runs will be MUCH better than a typical autocross.

Update: The $45 cost for admission includes Papa John's pizza for lunch!

That's always been a fun event. Last time I went, I still had the v6 with the powerdyne blower on it. smile.gif Too bad my car is still down. I'm really missing getting out there and doing some racing with it.

Pat Joyce, you let that loser drive your car? nutkick.gif

Tell him Brian said "hey" next time you see him. He co-drove my car down at the NFME in May.

thumbup.gif Yeah I know Pat told me all about it and how much I needed 315's after he drove your car.

Shoot, not only that, my car had completely broken front shocks when he drove it.

315s are good, mmmkay?

That would explain the "beating" that it seemed to be taking going through that far corner on the course where it was choppy. It really was bouncing in the front when running through there. Now I know why....

Rob, that event sounds like a blast. I might have to head down that way and maybe even drag the old fart along. biggrin.gif

EDIT: Maybe I'll even figure out that whole registration thing! banghead.gif

Some guys from the local mustang board will be there too. I don't know if any of them will be autocrossing though. BTW the link I posted was updated at 7pm EST.

Most of the people are usually drag racers so the autocross isn't too packed.

You didn't hear his joints creaking during his clutch install... tongue.gif

I forgot about it until now (and am "trailerless") or I might have considered it. I need a shakedown run for next weekend. Though, my car has been doing well on the nittos (junk), I'm sure with semi fresh kuhmos and more camber it should be just fine.

Since my clutch isn't disengaging, and since it is already the 10th and I haven't yet fixed it, I won't be (I mean am not) there sad.gif

I was there in the "new" car. (just picked up an automatic '98 TA on Thursday afternoon). 3.23 Auburn diff. All stock everything - still has air pump, egr, stock worn-out shocks, some off-brand street tires, stock exhaust, etc. I did fix 5 busted lug studs, replaced the severely dished front rotors, and replace a busted tranny mount. Oh yeah, and borrowed the 35mm bar from the Camaro... But that would still keep me in F-stock in a SCCA event. smile.gif

Drag racing:
I ran a 13.9, a 13.8, and a 13.7 with traps from 100-101.

I wanted to tune it last night but ran out of time. Didn't get to check or set the alignment either.

I did tune it on the way to Bowling Green this morning. The wife drove, and I played with the tune, then threw it on there when we arrived. Leaned it out a little, bumped up that mid-range speed bump in the timing, increased the rev limiter a little (and the shift points), and decreased the desired shift times. And fan temps and top speed limiter.

Autocross:
Did ok I think. Actually probably mid-pack for street tire cars. Hadn't autocrossed since spring of last year, and that was the only time since the spring or summer of the year before that. Was pretty consistent. Ran two high 39's, then let some air out of the tires (and the car got looser instead of tighter, oops...) and ran two 40's, then compensated my driving a little for the car being looser, and got a mid 39 for my 5th run. Hot, the tires got up to 43, so I bled the fronts down to 38 and the rears to 34. It gripped better before I bled them down though.

It think FTD was in the 34 second range.

Congrats on the new toy.

Yeah well I had intended to remind you sooner-but I forgot until the last minute. dry.gif We usually have it twice a year once in the spring once in the fall.

I didn't keep track but I made about 15-16 runs. My co-driver did an equal amount.

FTD was 33.5XX.
