I finally got tired of cleaning grass off of my MAF screen with my Direct-Flo and TSP lids. Even if I did get them sealing briefly, they would soon warp and start leaking again. I don't even want to know how much dirt has made it past the MAF screen.
The stealth lid is specifically designed for the larger K&N used by LT1 Vettes (etc). No gaskets are needed, it seals great, and it should keep sealing. I'm sure you could also use the Vette paper filter if you want.
The filter is a little bit of a nuisance to install/change, but not bad once you get the hang of it. On the other hand, it's a royal pain to cram a MAF in with this setup. That's why I'm selling it after just a few weeks on the car - the larger filter just really doesn't leave enough room for the MAF sensor.
It would be a nice setup for someone running a MAFless/Speed Density tune.
You will find many posts on other sites proclaiming that "a lid is a lid is a lid", and that may be true on the dyno. I doubt if the Stealth lid makes any more power than any other lid. I bought it because the standard aftermarket lid design that everyone copied is flawed at the back edge, and basically incapable of sealing for long.
I'm now using the SLP Blackwing setup. It probably makes a little LESS power than most lids, but it keeps the grass out and fits better with a MAF. It ain't cheap, though.
The like-new K&N and unused air pump filter are included. I special-ordered the stealth lid without the IAT hole drilled, but I can drill it if you want.
