Okay, so the the monster power parts are pricey. Seems that the bigger issue is finding someone willing to get on something that runs 8 second quarters, without a rollcage, on a no grip surface and little but good wishes for stopping power. If you're that guy, you have my best wishes for the best of luck. Now, I won't feel bad when people react like I'm crazy when I tell them I do HPDE events in a street car.
Yes Im that guy.

Snowmobiles are one of the main reasons I can drive so fast. Driving a car on the track is the same a going through a trail at speed. Getting off line on a sled has the same issue as a car. Its fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Running that fast low 9's high 8's is easy they are very easy to drive. Its just a big kick in the ass. As for brakes, At my local track I've made a best pass of 9.17 at 140 and I can stop at the first turn off. Most cars cant do that. There is a sled out there that is a four stroke running twin turbo/nos that runs 7.70 at 175. He is almost a full sec quicker than the rest of the field.
I could improve the power output of this motor by increasing the Engine speed, upping the compression to 14 to 1, +4 deg timing, and lean it down to self destruct. Might be able to make an extra 25-30 hp. But the fine line of engine damage is closer and closer. Later John
