I just notice this was posted on the local NASA forum. One page says they'll have a national autocross, another says it will be on the road course. Could be something to watch.

Looking at nasanationals.com seems to say that they are holding a competing event to the SCCA Runoffs. The fact that they are doing it at SCCA's old runoffs ground makes a serious challenge to the SCCA folks, too. They specifically list "exhibition AutoX" as one of the peripheral activities so I doubt it's an autocross championship.

Right on the bottom of the page:
"Competition events will include traditional road racing, time trials and a potential rally sprint."

I am looking forward to running this event and will arrange my vacation schedule to accommodate it...

We're probably going to haul ourselves out for this, and a friend is going to haul his se-r cup car out as well. Should be fun!

Speaking of NASA...I spent Sunday at Thunderhill watching the final CMC races of the year and I know that Julie, out of modesty, isn't going to mention it, but she was absolutely driving the hardest races ever in her 3rd gen Firebird. Sunday morning netted Julie a second place, right behind Nick Steel in his 4th gen Camaro. Nick came through the field after starting at the tail end of the 19 car field and showed why he's the 2005 CMC Champion. Julie battled through the whole race and drove a perfect finish. The afternoon race saw a similar scenario with Nick Steel taking an early lead over Pat Stone in his 1989 Camaro with Julie closely trailing Pat. None of the top three let off and kept the pressure on the entire race. Julie was closing on Pat at the end but needed another two laps. Congrats, Julie. Just think what the results will be when Julie has her new, faster 4th gen Firebird ready to race. Watch out, Danica...there's a new female road racing star. As always the CMC racing was fun and close all the way down the field...rp

Is this correct? Nick is damn fast, but I don't think he's the '05 CMC champion. If so I owe him a congrats!

Nick is the '03 Champion. He will be making a run next year I am sure!

oops, that's what I meant to type...Nick is the 2003 champion and unless I run next year, should be the 2006 champion!...mr. modesty
