I wanted to thank Bob Bishop for the design and manufacturing and Trackbird for setting up the group purchases back in last November when I bought them. I don't autocross the SS anymore. I have a trailered, race-only, not street legal Fiero for that now. State Farm likes it better that way. It took seven months to rebuild the car after November's conflict with the light pole and hydrant and the brakes have served as decerations on my coffee table in the formal living room. My wife's actually pissed that they're gone now. She liked them. They are quite pretty. huh.gif

Anyway, my stock 50,000 brakes with 2 years of autocrossing were pretty much gone so I had to replace them. Why would I buy new pads and have rotors turned when I have these already waiting for installation?!? It took ~4 hours tonight to do the entire job, by myself, in the driveway, in the dark too. Very easy. No issues. The stopping power is awesome.

Thanks again guys.

Glad you like them, 4 hours is pretty good time..... burnout.gif

... that's about the same time it took on the couple of cars done at my place, too.

You are very welcome. I am glad when someone notices and appreciates the attention to detail. Even though nothing you see was done specifically to enhance aesthetics, when a part is designed, fabricated, and finished to maximize strength and longevity, it often has a quality look to it.

Very few people complete the installation in 4 hours their first time through. But an experienced wrench spinner who reads the instructions and walks through it all in his mind first and has all tools at hand could do it. There is also a little less cutting time with the LS1 knuckles.

I actually lost the instructions long ago. lol And having the brakes preassembled and sitting on the coffe table probably helped a lot too.

And then there's the bonus.... I have a new Sawzall and vacuum brake bleeder! thumbup.gif

Don't tell the wife...
