Thatis the water pump, the Pavesi engines have an external pump, Hondas don't. The duct tape around the axle is a spare belt in case of breakage, otherwise you have to pull the axle out.
Haven't driven the kart yet. We're waiting on all the fluids to get here. It had to be shipped empty of
everything.
It ought to be a screamer. Somewhere between 42-45 hp, 385 minimum weight with driver, 2-3 g's in the turns... I can't wait.
It had roughly the same power to weight ratio the F500 has, the F500 weighs 800 lbs with me in it and has 95 hp. I'm sure the kart is quicker though. The F500 uses a Rotax 493 engine, a snowmobile engine. With the required 2-1 exhaust pipe, it makes about 95 hp. It uses a continously variable transmission, so I can two foot drive and not worry about shifting, which is nice. It's almost like a high stall torque converter, it flashes up to it's "stall" speed and it really launches.
It doesn't have springs like you would think of, rubber things and other contraptions, but no coil springs etc. The axle is solid, exactly like a kart. It can be rough ride if the course is bad shape, give it a smooth surface, it's awesome. One of the other F500's that runs with us was pulling 1.6-2.0 g's in several turns at Little Talladega Gran Prix and mine ran 3 seconds faster so I'm sure it was pulling at least those levels.
