Talking with M-Patterson, He has convinced me to put Black Bart into NASA - AI. I would run the car, but my hands are full developing the new NASA Class - Grand Production Challenge (GPC)

My actual goal is to sell the car with or without spares.
It is Black on Tan Leather. No tops or power windows. Light weight factory stripper.
Any Interest? biggrin.gif

I am thinking $15K turn key T2 we can talk from there. I can also build the car up as needed. :leaving:

$13,000 K just for the car.

Huge spares package available at extra cost. beerchug.gif

Not to hijack your post...but what the hell is GPC??
Barney
Grand Production Challenge. This is a new class for NASA. It is kinda like AI but for Factory "Super GT's" Corvette, Vipers, Porsche GT3s, Ferrari Challenge 348,355,360, Acura NSX that sort of thing. GPC-1, GPC-2 and GPC-X

There were a lot of singles and doubles of these cars at every event without any standard set of rules for all. So I put together a stardard set of rules to gather up all of the loose production cars so they could have a class and increase numbers.

Sounds cool...good luck getting that together.

It should be fun. With NASA it will allow competitors to upgrade weak components to make some of our production cars a little more track worthy! :drive:

It's relatively easy to convert an LS1 T2 Camaro into a competitive American Iron car. Add some headers, a few supension pieces, and drop the weight. No motor work needed.

I try to sell my car for nuthin' and no response! banghead.gif drink.gif

I sent the link to this thread to a guy on nasaforums.com that is looking for an AI car. Maybe that will work out.

Thanks for the help! It will go along way to help with my other racing budget.

This car is fast enough with a good driver to podium in AI now. A few key compents and it will challenge for the #1 spot. thumbup.gif

You have a PM from a potential buyer.

I will bring Bart to the NASA Race at MSR - Cresson. If anybody wants to see it.

I may throw some big freakin tires on it and run it in AIX. I think my C5 315s will bolt up! :drive:

Car ran well at NASA's race at MSR. I had my dad drive it. First time at track, first time in a Camaro, First race in over 2 years. He is accustomed to cars that handle well and are responsive! banghead.gif Man what a marsh mellow blink.gif

I drove it once and it was like being in a giant black marsh mellow tongue.gif However it was very responsive to throttle imput and liked to be floored all of the time. I am sayin' a couple of grand in used race parts and a long weekend with a strict diet for the 3600lb beast and you have got a competitive car that is easy to drive and maintain.

$13K for Bart and options for lots-o spares. wink.gif

Nice - it's marshmallow - see definition 1, unless you adorned it with pink flowers (see definition 2), or you were just driving like definition 3:

marsh·mal·low Audio pronunciation of "marshmallow" ( P ) Pronunciation Key (märshml, -ml)
n.

1.
a. A light, spongy, very sweet confection made of corn syrup, gelatin, sugar, and starch and dusted with powdered sugar.
b. A confection of sweetened paste, formerly made from the root of the marshmallow plant.

2. often marsh mallow Botany. A perennial plant (Althaea officinalis) native to Europe and naturalized in marshes of eastern North America, having showy pink flowers and a mucilaginous root occasionally used as a demulcent and in confectionery.

3. Slang. A timid, cowardly, or ineffective person.

PS - What's up with your signature - a bunch of horsepucky with no real listing of what each heap really is... nutkick.gif

I enjoyed Webster's definintions of Marshmallow. tongue.gif

Bart, was set up to roll over to create maximum traction via extreme side to side weight transfer. Eric would have set the car up this way to compete with stock suspension. blink.gif

I am amazed at the price and seeing all of the excellent used racing parts available on this forum alone no one has been interested. For less than $20K you could have a John George whippin' whip.gif machine.

Ol' Blue - 1999 Mallett Corvette T1 now GPC-2
Statutory Grape - 1974 Porsche Carrera 2.7 RS
Black Bart - 2002 SS Camaro was T2 soon to AI

Barney
