So who all is coming out?
I know we have John Wheeler running group 4 (only group 4/time trials and racers at this event!), and most of the usual CMC and AI crew.

I'll be out there, although I still have a ton of things to do to the car in prep. Car has about a 50% chance of making it - we'll see how the shop does with the exhaust and the newly fixed yet still leaking pinion seal...

Good luck with that Mike, hope you can make it!

California Speedway is in Fontana, quite a drive from Laguna Seca! Unless you are a racer the event is full. You have to sign up way early for this one, and for this one you have to be in Group 4 (most likely due to the speeds involved). Check
NASA for more events in California so you can sign up ahead. Feel free to come out and watch if you like, the facilities are very nice and there will be lots of good racin'!

I'll be at the PRO too. I wonder if they will open the roadcourse to the PRO competitors on Sunday(for an hour at lunch time) like they did the last time I was there. 2003?

Was supposed to be out there helping a co-worker with his vintage MGA, but I will now be on travel through the weekend.
Everybody else have fun!

Well, I didn't make it out of Northern California! I could post a rant about my adventure trying to get down south - I'll spare ya though! Let's just say it began at 5:30am and ended with me back home at 8:00pm after a flat tire on the trailer, a big traffic accident (not me) and other delays. Looking at the weather forecast down there (rain today and most of Sat) and me missing the practice day I decided it was not worth the 500+ mile one way tow.
I did find out AAA does not cover trailers over 21 ft!

That sucks! Sorry to hear nothing went right today.
It must be a sign... that the other competitors are sabotaging your tow rig because their worried about the dominance of the new #37

LOL! Well, it is dominating the inside of my trailer right now!

I get credit for the trailer tire. After a lengthy accident delay, I had to find a rest stop and, in my rush to get around a mini-mall parking lot I misjudged one of those parking islands, kissed it with the front left tire. This bent the rim slightly and ripped the sidewall...while checking that out I noticed a nail sticking out of the rear tire! Fortunately that nail came out without puncturing the tire.

I thought I was going to be on travel through the weekend, but we came back early; turns out my buddy is not racing until next weekend (17-19 March), but I ended up catching some viral infection so I'm staying close to home this weekend.

Rob, I did not have good luck with AZ either, came back here with the flu after my visit to Phoenix a month ago!

Sorry Julie, I should have clarified - I was on business travel, not "going home" travel.

Needless to say, it wouldn't have mattered, although I'm feeling much better today.
Hopefully we'll hear from the Fontana crowd soon!

Glad you are feeling better Rob!

Yes, I gotta get my racing fix vicariously from my buds this weekend, hope they post up something soon!

No wonder I can't find you guys out there. Nobody home! Stop by on Friday and said hi to Belinda and then it started to rain so I left to finish getting the car ready. Stopped by again Saturday afternoon only to not finding you all ( must have been hiding in the garages) watched the ASC (Belinda) do a few laps and left to change my tires to the better set for Sundays round only to have the tranny go out 4 blocks from home

Didn't go out Sunday.
BTW it was cold, wet, cold (40's), sleet, cold, windy and wet! Sunday (50's) was cold but dry.

Hey Glenn,
Sorry I missed you, I was just over the wall from Belinda in Garage 1 and the CMC guys were just down the way.

The last time I went out there you were down further.
