I need some good axles for a 4th gen rear end. Mechanic is rebuilding my rear and he says the axles are in bad shape. Not surprising now that I know it, but damn I really don't want to pop for a set from GM. I'll have him put everything back together as is if I need to, but I'd rather not. I know it's a long shot, but I figured it couldn't hurt to ask

BE,

I got a set of forged aftermarket axles new from Sam for the price of one OEM axle if I recall. It was just a coupla months ago.

Wish I could run 'em, but I need OEM stuff to stay legal. Not that anyone would know if I did... ph34r.gif

BE,
The forged axles looked pretty much like the ratty ones that came out to me huh.gif .

I watch the posts here and a good per centage of them deal with interpretation of rules and such and I understand the need for that. I have enough politics and beauracracy (sp) in my every day life. That is one of the reasons I like ORR.

No NOS
No radar detectors
Adhere to the class safety requirements.

That is about it.

Run what you brung.......
TOO Z MAXX
Are forged axles any lighter than stock?

Run what you brung is fine, but it's easy to get outspent and hard to make up for that. Drag racing is the most extreme example of this. I've always said they should just have a 1320' credit card reader and each owner just puts their card in and drag it down the track.

In Solo II you can make up for a lot with driving and you can make a competitive car for relatively cheap. Unfortunately sometimes what you want to do is more expensive than the aftermarket alternative.

Then again I just scored an entire used rear for $100 so huh.gif
Sam Strano
I can get you replacement axles too..... wink.gif

I just happen to have three sets of axles at my house right now. Weight as follows:

Stock: 17lbs each with factory studs

Superior: 17.5lbs each with long ARP studs

Moser: 15lbs with factory studs

Interesting.
