I just realized I have way too many cars and some (or all) of these babies really need to go to a new home. Description will be brief and price will be negotiable. Contact me via PM or cvpi@earthlink.net for all the details. Please be a serious tire kicker and I will respond honestly. Good grief Andy, I think you are tied with Julie for the number of F-bodies owned at this time (actually, she just sold the CMC car, so you may be one ahead).
CMC #37
I may resemble that remark! wink.gif Hubby is sweating it that I don't snap up another one. Maybe if I can pry the '73 SD455 TA from my neighbor.....

Actually, I have an extremely unfair advantage in the F Body race in that there is no wife. The initial investment when you divest yourself of said 'better' half is high but the long term returns are attractive. beerchug.gif

In the stable but not for sale are a '77 Vette, '96 'Burb and a Harley. I just bought a 1985 one owner S10 with 90k miles -- gas prices have become prohibitive to keep running errands in the Suburban.

In this case, I'm not so sure. Julie is the wife.....

Julie, where are the rest of the women like you hiding? (though it's too late for me now).

Kevin,

I love a good thread hijack! Where are Randy and Boyce when you need some good pain? nutkick.gif

Maybe I would have better luck on eBay with deadbeat bidders if I required them all to be single?

This is what I put as the first paragraph on all the high ticket eBay items I sell:

"Before we get started; You have probably read all the blah-blah about how this is a binding agreement if you place a bid, legal document and all that. I have to re-list cars all the time, spend more time and money because some mama's boy told me he "didn't expect to win the auction." Well, let me tell you that if you DO NOT intend to buy this vehicle, don't bid on it - pure and simple and real darned easy to understand. If you are lucky enough to be the high bidder, be a good business person and HONOR the agreement! Don't contact me when the bidding is over and done with and tell me your Grandmother's cat died, you broke a tooth and gave all your money to the dentist (its' happened), your girlfriend won't let you buy it (stand up, dude!) or worse yet, you just vanish off the face of the earth and I never hear from you. With all that being said, let me explain that this is a PRIVATE AUCTION to keep lowlife scammers and con artists from harvesting your email addresses and perpetrating fraud on you. Yeah, that has happened too."

Let the games begin!

...I sure like that 87 IROC... I wish I could swing it but I still have a better half and we are closing on a new house in 17 days (and we haven't sold our current one yet!).

No Keith!!! Nooooooooooo! Any one but that one. tongue.gif . I am sorta, kinda planning on building an ORR specific 355 to go in the '96 B4C this winter. I will need a good home for the LT1 that is in there now and it just seems to me that 87 IROC is begging for a hot LT1. Or maybe not -- my one rule is everything is for sale. We will see what happens.

That's the same car I liked best. If it were a manual.....(I've done the swap, I'll do it again some day).

Just find a buyer for my car..... 2thumbs.gif

I really wanted to buy a 3rd gen, sell my 4th gen and get rid of my car payment. That's a beautiful car (I could live without the 18" wheels though, but it's easily solved).

burnout.gif

You know, I have a brand new (test fired) JLD PTR 91 (very high quality HK91 "clone") that I'm looking to part with...... nutkick.gif

Kevin,

I make most of my money doing marketing stuff and it transfers over to the car biz. Any one under 25 that looks at that car comments on how 'hot' those wheels are. Are we getting old? I have to pay attention to what that demographic wants. One of the most popular types of cars I ever sold was the 94-96 9C1 (cop) Caprices. Splash of paint, lower them, kick a$$ stereo, wider wheels and rims and some tint and they flew outta here. I still get calls on those cars. You just can't find many these days that aren't basket cases or horribly modified.

I got to agree with that one! The !wife mod was not fun at first, but has become a lot more fun.

And owning a shop and working on these cars, I'll bet I don't have 5 customers of the same car crazy category as Jules. I do have one right who has a 2006 C6 M6 (non-Z51, can't have it all) she's got me to put a cam, headers, FAST intake, and tune that sucker, 442 rwhp/404rwtq. And she wants more. Nice!

Oh, Hi Jules!

Andy, the only one that temped me was the TA, but I kinda already have one just like that. :-)

And Kevin, you are the thread hijacker mofo!! Are you coming to Indy this year?? We'll miss you if not!

Sorry Jeff, I'm not going to make it this year (I'm taking the year off from racing at all). Someone else will have to take my place standing in the parking lot giving away good beer this year.

I am "Mr. Threadjack", but I usually get away with it (I don't know why???? rotf.gif ).

Well this "threadjack" has been really fun for me! Hi Jeff! smile.gif

You believe Milkman showed up for the party???????? Jeez.

I have been looking over the 85 Z28 and believe the best route is to part it out. It has a NICE GM 350 crate in it that I am gonna keep. Body is very straight and the interior just needs to be stripped. I think it would make a nice track car for someone. It drives straight, stops good (rear drums). The problem with the car was someone jacked the stereo and the pass side speaker shorted and caused a small fire -- like 3 years ago. It doesn't smell like smoke but all the 'soft' interior parts have been removed.

What do you all think a roller without engine/tranny/interior trim would be worth?

Take an engine/trans/seat - It wouldn't be any stranger than the last several things you have dragged home from out of state. We could build a SB-Chevy in 16 hours dead asleep... Again. drink.gif

heck, I'll meet you halfway with it in my trailer.

Twistedfocus was my room mate off and on for years and we worked together for a few years as well. So, he's been involved in too many of my odd ball projects.

We once went to Elkton, VA (440 miles) to rebuild my 77 3/4 ton truck. We took a used crank, 8 rods and pistons (7 of which were good), bearings, rings, headers, a pair of super turbos, etc. We thrashed on the truck all night and had it running by 6am (started at 5pm, give or take). Loaded my stuff in it and drove it to my parents (after timing it by ear by running up and down the street with no hood on it at 6am and a very loud exhaust). I stayed for most of the week and drove it home with about 2,400 lbs of shop equipment in the back of it.

The rods were so tight on the crank that my friend says I was heard to exclaim "screw it, it will grind its own clearance". One piston was in it backwards when we flipped it over, so we left it (what's a little piston noise?). Etc.

We've pulled off some interesting stunts over the years.

Can you hijack a hijacked thread?

Julie,

I have been all over the country to score cars. Boston in January, Miami a week after a hurricane. Cali 2X in January. The BEST 2 scores I made -- the '93 COBRA from the guy I lease my shop from and my '96 Suburban were both local. I walked 2 blocks to pick up the Suburban and drive it home.

I think is is an omen. Get the '73!

I like the 93 Cobra, but unfortunately I'm trying to cut down too. Gonna let my 98 SVT Contour go soon.

Shoot Keith,

Let me hook ya up. smile.gif You will notice that all the badging has been removed and filled-- even filled the seam on the rear bumper cover. Smooth, smooth car.

Here are some more pics:

Linky

I have been fighting electrical gremlins from several alarm installs over the years and have about got that straightened out. It needs some TLC on the interior and I can get pics if you want.

I keep looking at that one myself. I'd hate to buy it though since I know my track record with regards to washing cars (once a year, if it needs it or not) and it's beautiful. Besides, I'd hate to put cone marks in that paint......

Man, if I could scrounge up the cash right now, I'd be vacationing in Texas shortly.

Kevin,

Everyone should come to Texas in the summer at least once -- It keeps the lightweights from immigrating here en masse.

Come on Down!
