I've got an Auburn Racer's diff for a GM 10 bolt that came out of the #45 CMC car

When pinion gear let go at Sears Pt I wasn't sure if the diff survived or not so I ordered another diff. The diff survived with nothing more than a few scratches on the outside of the case, so I don't need this one anymore. Its got about 1 1/2 seasons on it and worked great, I never had any problems with the right rear wheel spinining on tight right handers.

New, these are over $400. I'll let it go for $200 + shipping.

Did you take it apart to make sure there is no damage? Will these wear out like a standard Auburn diff?

They do wear out but not as fast. They can be rebuilt for $125 - 150 by Auburn.

I haven't taken it appart and I most likely won't as I don't really want to find out that I can't re-assemble it smile.gif Given how the rear end let go, I'm confident that its not damaged.

The pinion gear shed two teeth ( http://gallery.noid.org/gallery/bustedrear ). A small piece of which punched a hole in the axle housing. The two big chunks didn't bounce around in the housing, they ended upgetting wedged in the passage that feeds fluid to the pinion bearing. There are a few nicks on the outside of the diff case but that's it. I didn't find any shrapnel in the axle housing either.

I know the diff still works because after getting it flat bedded back to the trailer I drove it back on the the trailer and then up and down the culdesac at home and felt the diff work on left and right turns.
