These things are so not like our cars...

trackbird
Ohhhh.....Daddy like......

Sure they are like our cars. Both have 4 wheels. See?
Teutonic Speedracer
Nice! I share a 4 wheels like Kevin said, a bowtie, and the desire to tear up the track!

I too think there are alot of the same things on our cars. The video camera and Brake cooling duct held on with Zip-tie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And I was worried about running a single brake line into my car for a bias knob. That thing has the dang resevoirs on top of his legs!

Those are the kinds of pics that give me (expensive) ideas for my car.

I'll take it!

So I could sell it biggrin.gif and buy stuff for my bird rotf.gif I couldn't afford to run it!

Howdy,

Does the tube at the base of the windshield function as a defroster?

Trying to figure out why all the holes...

If it does... How does that work? Fan to blow air over the exhaust pipe?

Ya, and I forgot to look for non metallic lines carrying fluid in the cockpit. I did ding him on the lack of padding on the roof diagonal, and lap harness mounting - they didn't swivel.

The pedal mounted resevoirs are pretty std on a purpose built race car - both closed and open wheel. Mechanical balance bar between F/R master cylinders takes the place of a hydraulic bias valve.

It did tear it up, for one session - then a pushrod pocket on a Jesel shaft rocker adjuster took a dump. They got it fixed and back together late in the day, missing the Fri race. I couldn't stay for Sat but it should have been good to go, will be interesting to see what times Elmer gets in his first race with it. He was turning just under 2:00 flat with both his Magnacharged C5 and Brodix SBC powered 914.

The car was painfully loud from the pit wall, It was well over the 105dB Thill limit. Elmer is a really good customer of Thill's - he was told to put mufflers on it for next time, rather than park it.

Good catch - yes that is a defroster. There's a small blower on the pass side - I didn't see if it pulled air off the exhaust but it could have - drv side header crosses over behind the motor and both banks exit pass side. I put a rear window defroster on the rear deck of the Subaru I built - used a brake duct blower in the trunk. It picks up air off the rear pan just above the muffler.

Ya, not everybody can afford Simpson or Willans ;-)

I see a lot of budget brand harnesses in race cars - Crow, RCI, Gforce. Most everybody has gone to Camloc style over the old latch and link.

I have seen a million GT-1 cars in my day....I have even built a few of them.....

THAT IS ONE CLEAN CAR! Nice effort!

Those cars are such a pain in the ass to maintain. I don't miss them at ALL. WC cars are almost as fast and 5x as reliable.

Louis, if I may ask, what are the major differences that account for that much of a change?

By the way, glad to see you back. beerchug.gif
