Anybody have a line on a good bolt/nut/washer starter kit.....i.e. an assortment that is a good mix and a good start for a bulk bolt supply in the shop.

I am looking for a personal kit, not a big one for a shop or large quantities.....

McMaster has this one in both coarse and fine SAE Gr8:

I was at a swap meet and there was a guy there selling these ..

They weren't $30 each, though ... I bought 8 of them.

I have this work bench that I made cubby holes in for these 8 bins to slide into. Very handy.

Good catch - but 8 won't be enough - the red bins on the shelf in the background are filled with hardware - I think there are 22 of them and I could use a few more. Most of them come with me to the track.

I didn't want to use the red bins, because you end up with a lot of them, but they are cheap. I was lucky enough to have a Lowes that was building a bigger store and didn't want to keep inventory. They had the clear bins that mount to the wall and tilt out. Myself and 3 other friends offered $800 for their whole hardware section and they said yes. They looked it up in the computer and they had over $6000 in inventory. Getting the hardware itself was good, but getting the labeled, clear plastic tilt out bins was the best.

If you can afford it, the tilt out clear plastic bins mounted to a wall are by far the best way to go.

Very nice indeed.

The bins I have look like this (although I have no idea if it's the same brand):

I have two different sizes and the link looks like the bigger ones. I have all the hardware in the smaller bins and use the larger bins for hose clamps, electical tester, etc.
