I've decided to go to a T10 setup some point this year, so I'm going to sell off one of my T5 setups.

-WC T5 out of a ~100k mile '91 Camaro
-V8 bellhousing
-freshly machined factory lightweight flywheel
-pedals
-stock shifter
-Camaro console shift plate

Buy whatever clutch kit you want and LT1 hydraulics are $100 from GMPD and you're good to go.

$500 picked up OBO

I'm about 30 miles SW of Chicago.

LT1 hydraulics won't work on a 3rd gen V8 T5 setup, you do know that, right?

You have to buy the proper V8 3rd gen hydraulics. The slave cylinder is not only different, it works in an entirely different direction on an LT1.

I guess you'll have to tell that to the setup in the car. It worked all last year.

Someone gave me this part number and said it was the setup for '93-97 LT1s with T56s.

GM PN: 12559912

I could be wrong, but that's the PN I bought.

I've done T5 and T56 swaps into 3rd gens. They are absolutely different. The LT1 uses a "pull" style slave cylinder, the T5 uses a standard (conventional) push style slave cylinder. I can't tell you what that part number is for, but I can tell you 100% that LT1 hydraulics will not fit a T5.

Was the line from the master to the slave plastic or braided?

Edit:

It just hit me that the LT1 flipped the mounting on the slave cylinder. It mounts behind and pushes forward where the T5 mounts in front and pushes to the rear. I guess it could be possible to interchange them, but I won't swear to it quite yet.

Braided line.

Here's a screenshot of GMPD with the listing and PN:

I wish I had a pic to prove it, but that'll have to wait until I pull everything off the old car.

It says cylinder but it's the entire assembly:

That should be the LT1 stuff then.

Interesting. I never thought about the fact that the slave was turned around on the LT1 cars, just that the fork worked backwards.

I stand corrected. ph34r.gif

I'm glad GM was smart (or lazy?). It cost me less to buy a brand new one then dick around with rebuilding the old one beerchug.gif

BTW, you are the master hijacker rotf.gif

Well, I was trying to prevent someone from buying it and having issues. But it appears that I was incorrect about the information. It wasn't meant to be a hijack, just a correction (that wasn't).

No worries dude. I hope I didn't come off as a dick, just keeping the knowledge flowing. smile.gif

You didn't. I knew you were kidding. I was going to mention that "besides, we keep bumping your thread to the recently posted threads list"....

Sweet.

The setup is now pending to a guy from TGO.

He's gonna drive all the way from Des Moines to pick it up blink.gif
