If you're interested in getting rid of any of the following, please PM me because I'm interested in getting these at a fair price.

hidden hitch like a draw-tite for a TA
mini-trailer - big enough for 4 17x11s w/ sticky 315 tires.
4 each - 315/35/17 V710s or similar
4 each - 17x11 wheels - medium to light weight, low cost, finish not very important
Sway bars stiffer than 1LE like Stranos or similar
Lowering Springs - stiffer than stock, preferrably non-progressive around 550 lbs/in front, ~150 rear
Adjustable shocks - KONIs or similar

For a fast transaction, send pictures and paypal info or address for a check to andre_takacs@hotmail.com

Thanks. Andre

A few suggestions to narrow the list a bit:

The springs you are describing are the Strano springs. That's about it.

Konis are really the only adjustable shocks for these cars that are designed for handling applications. There is no "or similiar". The front shocks are not a job you want to do often, so I'd suggest doing it right the first time. You do not need the Koni Double Adjustables though. Single adjustables will work fine, and are much cheaper.

You want a 35~36mm front bar, and either the Strano 22mm hollow or a 1LE 21mm solid rear bar.

Light weight, low cost 17x11 wheels are going to be a bit hard to come by (and if you pass on them, I'll take them). Cheap but strong enough means heavy. CCWs used to be cheap, but the new price has skyrocketed and used bargains are rare. Your best economy choice will probably be a set of ZR1s, but they are NOT light. If you find a set of CCWs, the ideal offset is probably about 1.75", but in the ZR1 you'll probably want (have) to go with 50mm offset and use spacers.

Andre,

Will you be at the event this weekend? Look me up and chat to me. I might be willing to let my trailer go. I run the white MK4 diesel Golf in FSP (#28).

I also think Kevin (trackbird) might have some parts left over from his 4th gen. He is also local which means no shipping!

I've got a set of rear DA's and I'm not sure what else.

I'm in Washington State training Cadets until August 8th so I can't make any more pts events til #9. I appreciate the offer and if you don't get another one, I'll look at it when I get back.

Forgive me if you already know this:
Strano's springs are 550/150s (non-progressive) and 1.25 drop. He also sells his Sway Bars in 35/22mm, and Konis. Maybe you could get a package deal on all this new.

I realize you are looking used to save $. But time is worth money, and the people who build/sell quality parts for us need our $upport.

Howdy,

I've got a set of A3S04's I'm going to be taking off that are in "ok for a few events or a test 'n tune" shape. $100 for the set, before shipping.

I've also got a set of rear tokico adjustable shocks. No clue what they're worth, but call it $100 before shipping for those too.

Or make me an offer I can't refuse, and I might not.

If they're the size I'm looking for, consider them sold.

I thought the idea offset for a 17x11 on a TA was ~35/36mm?

From what I remember 36mm is better on the firebirds due to the wider fenders, on camaros 36mm it gets very tight, thus the need for 50mm with spacers. Maybe someone with a pontiac can chime in.
sgarnett
On Camaros, the Hoosier 315 A6 is a very tight fit, so there's very little forgiveness on the offset, even with rolling and slightly flaring the fenders. The tires move more than you might think under cornering loads.

I have 50mm offset ZR1s.

My front casting nubs are ground off, which may or may not have been required because I still need 3/16" spacers to keep the rim and tire away from the spindle. So, on my car 45mm is about the maximum offset that will work on the front. It's also the minimum offset, because I do get slight rubbing at the fender lip.

At the rear, my outer fenders are rolled and slightly/subtly flared. The inner fenders are pounded, and the bumpstop and bracket are slightly trimmed. The PHB is very carefully adjusted with zero margin for error. I'm running 5/16" spacers, still get inner fender rubbing from tire deflection, and even 1/16" thicker spacers cause outer fender rubbing on a bump. So, 48mm (or 45mm with a 1/8" spacer) is about right in the rear.

Grinding the front nub, pounding the rear fenders, and trimming the rear bumpstop bracket (an integral part of the inner fender) are all illegal in ESP (bumpstop itself may be OK). I wasn't worried about replacing the spindles if I was ever in danger of winning the Nationals, but I didn't realize the inner fender rules had been "clarified" a few years ago until after the fact. C'est la vie.

As far as I know, a Firebird won't be any different on the inner fender dimensions, but there is room to move outboard slightly.

315s keep getting bigger (A6 seems to be bigger than V710, which is in turn bigger than older 315 designs). It's kind of like golf clubs, where what used to be called a 4 iron is now called a 5 iron. So, if looking at other Firebirds running 36mm rims, make sure they are running the A6.

On my car, the equivalent of 45mm offset rims (effectively) are threading the needle, still require an additional 1/8" rear spacer, and still rub. If there's an extra 10mm fender width on a Firebird (dunno, but easy enough to measure), I'd sure take advantage of it.

I agree with Sgarnett and Subtle Z28. I run Strano springs, front/rear sway bars and Koni SAs and my Z 28 handles fantastic. If you can swing the funds to buy these items DO IT! I was able to drive my Z 28 at Watkins Glen last week as fast as I had my basically stock Z06 last year, which blew my mind. Definitely excellent upgrades.
