It took me maybe 90 min to get the motor down and most of that was spent
screwing around with pressure washing the bottom of the motor & car off.
I also drained the power steering, oil and radiator before starting.
There was about a gallon of water in the bottom of the crank case.

And if you re-route your front brake lines out of the K-member, you won't have to bust open the brake system, making the going back in a lot easier.

That's the plan. I just cut the front lines as I know I've got a 'good spare' set that I can re-route around the radiator support next time around. I may just get some 3/16" brake lines and flare them all myself as well, it depends on how adventurous I want to get.

Yep, that's the easy way to change the plugs on one of those cars. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/rotf.gif)

With all the weight you pulled out of the front of that thing, I'd have been afraid of rolling the car off the lift backwards as the last bolt dropped out. Nice. Double-flaring, or bubble-flaring as a lot of the newer cars use, is not that difficult, as long as you have the right tools.

I'm not 100% sure which way I"m going just yet. I"m fairly sure the modified radiator location is comming out. It was too much of a headache to get the air ducted in. I'mgoign to, at the very least, redo the radiator location. I've got to source a motor for it as well.

Soooooo, we'll see which way the plasma cutter takes me when I stat to cut the radiator support off as well.

Bingo! It was basically a way to protect the shock shafts from crap when the car was raced.

I was a bit concerned as well but I watched the car pretty carefully as I lifted it up off the motor & trans and it stayed rock solid.

No, they are right side up. The rears were inverted.

That means i'll be another spot back on the grid , but thats ok......... becuase it also means there will be an fbody at the front.

I hope you bring back ol' #45, it was the first time I met you and Jason(I think) changing a PS pump on it.

Correct me if i'm wrong Nick, but #45 is one of Jason's test mule's for alot of the stuff we all run now right?

What was the problem with the front breather the way it was setup with the radiator leaned forward? I was planning on doing that some time in the future but I'd like to know what trouble you ran into.

Oh, and if you convert it to a CMC car and are willing to sell the rear Penskes cheap, let me know (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
