I'm shopping for a speedo for my car... Should I get the 160 mph version or the 200? hmmm
1:1 4th gear with a 3.42 and 6k rpm is 133 mph... All I need is a .85 OD, 3.08 rear gear, and 7k rpm to hit 200, plus a crap ton of power, a few miles of road, and a lot bigger kahonays... I think the 160 is pleanty (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/gr_grin.gif) This post has been edited by StanIROCZ: Apr 26 2008, 02:42 PM |

Ah lets see Driving a car at 200mph+ and keep looking down at the digital speedo, and the guy in the pass seat looking at the Lap top. Then letting off the gas and seeing a tractor trailer going bye in the slow lane!!!!!!! Sweet ride....

Awesome! I pulled an indicated 174 in my 01 Z06 once, and it was absolutely incredible. It's amazing the difference that extra 20MPH makes over 150 (which I'd done in several f-bodies and my 92 Vette). Can't imagine doing 205, things are already happening so much faster at 170 than 150, it's got to be way worse at 205.

Should I get the 160 mph version or the 200? hmmm I'm intending to put a 200 mph speedo in mine, but we are already projecting that I should top out (when I run out of gear) at 178 mph in 5th. So, I can already use most of it and I have the gears. I DO want to run an ORR race in this car at some point, so it's a nice touch (even though the GPS is king in that arena). |

For that one time in my life when I "might" go that fast I think the 160 is fine. After that, I still have a tach.

tried the speed ring and it's boring... only need to touch the steering when you get down from the banking... lol insane car (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) |

If you're not going fast enough, you're still turning right, at least that was my experience at TWS. No, I was not driving fast enough. The car was sprung too soft, and set too low. Anything more than 115, and the headers were sitting on the track surface. I'd set it at 115, until I could see the track open up ahead of me, and then nail it. At 115, I was still turning right to keep the car up on the track. |

Yeah, I did an event at Atlanta Motor Speedway about 10 years back, and even doing 135MPH I was still either turning right or running very low on the banking.

That is a test track near Papenburg Germany . Now if that was the US I suspose the truck would of been up in the left lane .
