Shhh....the new owner is registered here now. Turns out he is a friend of Robs (Rob71LM7, one of the mods/long time members here) from the Kentucky F-body group some time ago.

But we are counting the days until we can get rid of this jeep. This is one of the few vehicles I've ever owned that I really dislike. I'm sure it's leaving....just when and for what?

I understand, but then again I've never been a fan of anything Chrysler. Some of their styling is great, but I never thought much of their long term quality.

That's why I'm looking at CJ-7's if I get a Jeep. Before Chrysler took over.

The seats aren't comfortable. It will go ANYWHERE...but I don't want to sit in it long enough to get there.

What is this shh business? (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Hi everyone, excited new owner here. As Kevin mentioned, I was in (co-founded) Kentucky F-Bodies... www.kyfbodies.org... with Rob, who Im sure I met at some point at a bash or something... That was a number of years ago and sadly, not much action there anymore. Ive been the proud owner of 2 Z28's.. 95 and 97, both 6-speed and 1 t-top. I had to get rid of the 97 (had a 355 with a mild cam and full exhaust) when the first born started baking in the oven, traded it for a Tahoe then traded that in on a minivan. Needless to say, I cant wait for this car to show up.

For those wondering, the car will remain as is (probably putting the stock sway bar and PHB on) for awhile. My other car (2001 VW Passat with 175k) is going to get put on jackstands and will get overhauled so it can run for another 175k issue free. Once thats done the SS will go to weekend warrior status and a build project will be started. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/2thumbs.gif) in the meantime Im going to be doing some reading and question asking here so as to prepare for said build.

Welcome aboard David. I'd put the stock rear bar on it, but leave the 35mm front. The larger front bar has little impact on ride quality and really helps handling and response. Beyond that, the Bilstiens should have about 4k miles on them and the stock PHB works for a daily driver.

It should be on the way (they said the truck was leaving today) and you should see the paperwork on Saturday via Fedex.

As for questions, ask away!

Pretty much. Cruising Craigslist has pretty much become a part time job trying to find someone who isn't out of their mind. I don't see how people think their shit box with a bunch of dents qualifies for KBB Excellent RETAIL pricing...

Well, KBB isn't standing here with a stack of hundreds to buy your truck and I am...

They only rated it as "excellent" because KBB doesn't have a "my shit is spectacular" price on the website...

The one buyer I had come look at my truck (when I was selling in 2012) said "book is 11 and I'm thinking "$10k". I booked it (honestly with the options) and it was $12,800 to low $13's. He didn't add any options, just "2007 C 3500" and said "Oh, $11k". He was going to give me $10k. Carmax gave me $9k and I didn't have to screw around for the day getting the title work done and all that. He called back two days later and I told him it was gone. Oops.

If I found that same truck today (2 years and the mileage later) someone would be asking $15k for it....I'm almost sure of it.

Indeed. When we settled on a replacement vehicle for the now-getting-troublesome 95 Caprice my wife was DD, and started looking, we found a dealer in Florida that specializes in police vehicles. They'd post on their website 'new arrivals' with a price, before they'd take delivery. Then, they'd make a bid on the things, and get outbid, sometimes at more than what they were offering the vehicles for on their site. They said that other resellers are even buying vehicles from them at what they're priced them at, jacking up the price again, and reselling them.

We finally got lucky on a 2010 PPV, but ended up paying probably only about $7K less than what the thing went for new. We're still quite happy with the purchase, though, even at the premium. It's fun to drive, and so far, has been dependable, which is Job 1 for someone who's on call 50% of the week.

Welcome and congrats on the sweet ride! (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/2thumbs.gif)

DO NOT let ANYONE tell you that these cars cannot be used as a daily driver with a baby/young kids.

I've used it to transport my two sons from the time they were young, and even took BOTH of them to hockey practice/games in it at the same time, with ALL of their equipment, and one was a goalie!!!!! : (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/gr_eek2.gif)
