Good news is the realignment was a huge success even though I had to really work for a change for awhile. Wondered where you went....... those realignments suck. I lost a 69 Z/28 over one a those. Damn, that thing has $10000 worth of race parts on it. No one is responding because we don't want to lose you. Bock |

The Unbalanced Engineering stuff was around $2k and the engine was built by a Pro over in Longview. There is $10k right there. |

I wish Mitch (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/banghead.gif) . Ths shop up north is lonely and getting full of cobwebs. I have been working onsite - Mineral Wells, Hamilton and now Huntsville since Aug 1. Money is good and I live in my RV right there but there is no time or opportunity for piddling. This is me. I think my top speed right now is about 11mph but I have lotsa torque. (IMG:http://www.texasinterceptors.com/images/Graford/2.jpg) |

I've pushed a little dirt in a 12L ... fun, but definitely a different rush.
Last I heard cars don't eat and cobwebs dust off ... You are a 3.42 gear away from a damed competitive TT car. |

Guys,
I drove this car at Nashville Superspeedway. It's a well sorted rocket. I have to say that I was truly impressed with Andy's toy and can tell you that this car is a giant head start if you want to build an LT1 4th gen. And it does "haul the mail" (and it sounds wicked too!). |

I just feel funny jumping in the middle of somebody else's sandbox with a classified. Talked to my daughter today who is stationed in the Azores Islands. She said " Daddy, list on FRRAX first. At least they will appreciate it for what it is and understand all the sweat and money that has been poured into the car." |

Yeah, my other DD is a 92 B4C, with Koni yellows, so stiff suspension is not a problem. I rather like the seating position of Kirkeys, too. An automatic, and A/C IS an issue, though, as the commute is long, hot, and deals with traffic.
Hmmmmm. |

Ok Guys,
I am wanting to close the Shop north of Dallas and I need to find a home for this car to do that. I have been involved in some interesting trades in the past so start thinking "Cash Plus????" I have use for: 4x4 UV like a Kawasaki Mule or Polaris. Small enclosed trailer 12-14ft Guns esp anything in 45 Auto Suzuki Samurai 3rd gen F Bods LTx Corvettes Be creative! I have no use for porn collections, mind altering drugs, GF's you are tired of or taxidermied animals. Everything else is pretty wide open. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/cool2.gif) One time I had a '95 F bod that I let go for a pittance and I got a beating on here for not 'letting everybody know'. Somebody is gonna get a helluva deal on this car..... |

Andy, say it ain't so!! I heard it was forsale, and I just couldn't believe it. I do know that the best part of the ORR for you was doing it with your son, but you could find a place to store that sucker for a while and get back into it later!
Agreed, someone is going to get a hell of a car here. Glad to hear you're doing ok Andy! Been too long, -jeff |

GF's you are tired of... Damn, so close and yet so far away..... You're really tempting me Andy. You did say 3rd gens (though I expect you want a streetable one). I always tempt you don't I Kevin? Yeah, a streetable vehicle is what I need. Giving up the shop with 2 bays and a lift and moving everything into a double garage in my slice of Suburbia doesn't lend itself to projects very well. Some more pics to tempt the lurkers, lookers and wannabe ORR racers: (IMG:http://www.texasinterceptors.com/images/spoiler2.jpg) Blaine Spoiler- It comes with a taller short track version as well. Good to hear from you too! I'm not that elusive. I'm interrupt driven! Bzzzzt. Read email. Bzzzzt. hello this is Jeff. Bzzzzzt. 2pm appt is here. There is the "blah blah blah ORR blah blah" and I think "What's up with Andy, I should say hi" but no other interrupt exists. I'm too old to keep it all straight in my head. But I'm glad you're doing well, sad that this chapter is ending, but happy that there will be another chapter and another cool race car!!! -jeff "old guy" |

Wolfgang 770-355-0974 We are a bit more mature crowd here Wolfgang. 60 is not geezer age at all -- I am 52. One of my good friends started to ORR race 2 years ago at 62. What do you want out of your car? Color? Hardtop or t tops? Miles? 770 is Georgia area code right? This post has been edited by AndyJ: Nov 21 2007, 08:08 AM |

That is a really good deal. If I could do it all over again I'd buy someone else's project instead of droping a fortune making my own. Ditto Stan, Although there is quite a bot of satisfaction from creating your own racer. If I had it to do over again, I might not do it at all (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) |

But with the advent of Ebay and message boards we are capable of buying someone elses project, taking off the parts that you don't like, and selling them for usually 50-75% of the original purchase price. That pays for the things that you want to do/change. I don't think it would be too hard to sell your shocks and a few other items on this forum (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) |

The color is pewter, interior is charcoal - you know - almost black. I installed quality sheep skin seat covers at about 5K miles. So leather is as new. Car has about 62,400 miles. Always changed oil every 3000 to 3500 miles with sybthetic oil. advantage of having my own shop. It is a T-Top . Also has 10 disc CD player in left rear. Yes the phone # is Atlanta area. I live NE in Buford. Call anytime to get more info if necessary. I don't type that well. Old guy Wolfgang

OK everyone,
The weather has curtailed the dirt excavation for the time being and I have taken the next 30 days off. One of the things that has to be done is vacating my shop prior to Jan 1. This car is in th shop so it has gotta go. $9000 cash with all the spares and stuff ready to go. This has got to be the Santa deal of the century. |

I don't have the money, but I'd love to get this car!! I wish my dad was a road racer instead of a drag racer, then he could get it haha.

Wow. Superb deal.
30 days? You only need about 5 to pull the car apart. Then the rest of the 30 to sell off the goodies. There's easily 9G there. Still got the stock parts? |

Stan, The car would just be a shell at that point. It spent 132k miles in service with the Fort Worth PD. Everything on it was bent, broken, holed or taped up. The stock stuff was worn out crap and went to the scrap man. It would be a shame to break this car up and sell it off for parts with everything in top shape and ready to go racing! |

Back Around 1975 I had a '67 Jaguar XKE. The 4.2 liter straight six was toast and I dropped a little balanced Ford 289 and 4 speed into it with the help of a kit. Many, many times I wished I had kept that car but at 18 or 19 years old, I was just not that bright.
Over the weekend, I talked to my 20 yo daughter who is USAF stationed at Lajes Field, Azores and she made a good arguement to keep the car. Then this morning, John sent me an PM basically saying the same thing. I can't stand in the face of such logical pressure and plus John's Pay It Forward oil pan is on the car. The car is OFF the market, I will store it in the temp controlled basement of my commercial building until such time I feel the need for speed. I have always wanted to try it on the Salt Flats.......... |

Thanks for all the encouragement folks. Of course, if you have a car like his you gotta drive it so I am going to have to figure out some events to go to.
Oh yeah, buy my Suburban. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/cool2.gif) I can't drive two of 'em and this one is nicer. (IMG:http://www.texasinterceptors.com/images/new_burb/1.jpg) |

Hi,
Not been on here in a long time, so joining in this thread way too late. Glad you've decided to keep you car, it's never nice to see someone selling something they have put so much time and effort into. I realise it's not for sale anymore, but if you ever feel like selling it again, drop me a PM - Your asking price was extremly fair. Coming from the UK it REALLY would much, much easier to buy something already done - paying all the import tax on every single imported component sucks, buying a second hand car is much cheaper on import tax and shipping a complete car is not much more than shipping some headers and Y pipe. The only caveat would be it would take a few weeks to sort out the pick up / shipping of the car. UKCamaroSS This post has been edited by UKCamaroSS: Dec 19 2007, 11:11 AM |
