Kev, $570 for a rebuild? I forgot what they went for originally, as I have a set. Any recollection?

I don't want to side track this thread. The $570 covered $130 per shock for shortening them, so that was a quick $260 of it.
Now back to your regular for sale thread. Feel free to add questions to the Koni DA rebuild thread if anyone has questions. That should keep the clutter down in this thread. |

Guy Ankeny from Pro Parts West does all my revalving. He charges around $180 for a revalve for autox'ers and has an excellent reputation. He races in CP, you've probably seen him at nationals and has done shocks for several national champs, including this year's 2008 CP champ car:
with revalve, total cost is in the range of $570-600 including price of shocks versus $800+ for 2 new ones plus cost of revalving new ones. $200. Make them puppies move. I did notice today that it looks like the bottom cap screws onto the shock body so they should be rebuildable at home. Just need a tool or some punches to fit into the two holes into the cover.

Extended length between mounting points is approximately 18.5". Stroke is 2.5" but can be longer depending on bump stop modification.
These shocks look to be completely modular like a penske. You should be able to rebuild them in your garage np. You can see from the pictures below that I took the top mounting shaft off. It threads onto the shaft of the shock. You can also see the threaded base to the shock body. I may be interested. Let me check with the co-owner and see what she says. Approach carefully and with offers of shoe shopping in hand. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/brick.gif) OH he!! no! Tell her the car will go faster, and it's an easy sell!! She said yes. |
