What do you guys drive on a daily basis? I know for some of you the F-bodies are track/weekend cars only. I want to know what you're driving during the week and if you like it or not.

My Trans Am is my current daily driver. It goes to work 5 days a week. My wife drives a '99 Blazer which we use for errands, shopping, and trips.

I am looking into a new daily driver for me (so the TA can retire to weekend duty) and am curious to see what everybody else is driving.

1988 chevrolet celebrity station wagon, complete with paint that comes off every time it gets washed, smashed in front grill (came that way), busted out right rear tail light, A/C that blows hot air, bithcen AM/FM stereo that crackles, roof rack, home made cold air intake and a power steering pump that pukes all over the place.

For 750.00....what do ya expect! LOL the wife gets to drive the 02 LT Suburban.

Sometimes I drive the Camaro.

Mostly I drive the '94 Honda Passport 4wd (rebadged Isuzu Rodeo).
3.2L 24valve ohc v6, 175 hp, 4.11 gears, removed mechanical fan and replaced with electric, must be good for another 2 hp at least. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I just figured out a few days ago that it's got heated mirrors. (so that's what that button with the wavy lines does, that never made the rear window clear off any!)

My track car IS my daily driver.

Here is a pic:
http://www.ddrockinrods.com/Event/1122HD112.jpg

Exactly as it looks on the highway (with the hood down (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) ).

Of course, the motor is out right now for a "nice" stroking.....

1985 BMW 535i, upgraded with all the 535is goodies and some cool vintage M5 parts. It's a great car to commute in, and I love the classic looks.

Pat, you don't know how tempting that is, but what are the odds I could leave it as-is and resist the urge to modify?

(IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif)

What I'd actually love to have is a 99 or 2000 323/325 BMW Coupe (would do a sedan if I had to) or a used C5. Both can be had under $25K at this point but there are several factors.

1. Do I really need to spend that kind of money on a 3rd car?
2. I've always loved the 3 series, but why buy one when I could get a Vette for the same price, and I've wanted a Vette since I was 5 yrs old.
3. Do I really want to daily drive a Vette and run it into the ground?
4. Should I do something more like in the $10K range, but what is going to give me reliability and a touch of class/upscale-ness at that price?
5. Do I need a 3rd car at all, realizing 1 car would have to sit in the driveway year-round, would it be better fiscally, even if not as practical, to continue to daily drive the Trans Am?

C'mon, you know you want it. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

There's really not much that would need to be modded. The brakes, suspension, and rearend (4.10s, Torsen) are already done. The engine's got good power for a daily driver- typical LT1 bolt-on levels, ~265 rwhp. Every bushing in the suspension was replaced less than 15K miles ago. Optima battery is less than three years old. Fresh complete tune-up including plugs and plug wires, O2 and knock sensors, etc. Tires are great. This car needs NOTHING.

I am down to $8K. I never thought I would have to go that low, but it seems I have. I need to sell this car.

$8K is a bargain for that car, and it appears to be very well taken care of. I just keep telling myself "you don't need 2 F-bodies" LOL.

I drive the '89 5.7L WS6 Formula to work every day. Always have loved the old school 3rd gens.

Before that I had an '88 Chysler Conquest TSI. Also a very fun car, huge 4 banger, factory widebody with 9" wheels and fully independent suspension, Adjustable shocks stock, massive front mount with a huge turbo pushing 18psi of boost.

1992 Toyota Tercel. C/W James Bond style smoke screen (blow by) Jimmy Page style beat (rod knock) AC courtesy of the disintegrating body. Bald tires. Dirty interior.

I love the car (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Starts every day. I don't give a tinker's damn about it so I spend virtually no time caring for it.

Drove the 1LE for 100k miles as my daily driver til the blown 383 project went underway. Now my daily driver is a '02 Chevy Z71. Fun little truck if GM would have put a good tranny in it. Once the bugs are worked out of the Camaro....it might be my nice summer day daily driver. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Steve if you got a BMW bike you may know Kurt Przybyche (or some such, it's actually pronouned "sheebish").

Anyhow he works (or worked) at BMW Motorcycles in South Bend. In the service department...

Anyhow I saw in one of your posts you were thinking of a T2R. He installed mine and did a great job, and was Very reasonable. He also built my ESP engine.

Our daily driver is our tow truck. A 97 Z71. I gotta keep it awhile and it just turned 90,000 miles. So eventually I'll put it aside as a tow vehicle only (my truck) and get something that the wife likes. Which after the baby is born will probably be something gay like a mini van. No offense to any mini van owners and/or "alternate life style" F-body owners.

I drive an'87 Toyota 4Runner. 220,000 miles, 22RE 5 speed and I bought it new. An energizer bunny on wheels. I also drive my ugly '86 F-150 6 cylinder from time to time. It's rough, but it tows, and it's a trauma-free ride. Also, it's great for swap meets, etc. Quite a site with my Camaro on the trailer ,(also ugly) going down the road. Also in the stable, my wife's 5.0 Mustang LX, a restored '69 C-10, a '73 Vega GT, (also bought new), a '75 Vega, a '92 Acura (son's), and a 91 Sundance (other son's, and maybe the perfect beater).

Mine is the car in my sig, with an indeterminate but high amount of mileage on most of the chassis (the OE 85 mph speedo/odo has been inop for a couple of extended periods of time, including currently).

Wife's car is a 20th AE Maxima. 5-speed.

I may look for a rust free late 80's Civic this summer. It'l be my daily driver. And the wife can have the truck.

I drive quite a bit just to work and back each day.

Plus eventually I can fix the little Civic to compete in SM.

I drive a 1990 Civic. Raced it in the Honda/Michelin series for a couple of years and tried to sell it as a race car. No takers, so the roll bar came out and the carpet went back in. Headlights are aimed kinda funny, but I guess that's my fault (shouldn't have hit those other cars). Developing some serious rust problems now.

Got a new Venture mini-van for my wife and kids this summer. Oh yeah, got a puppy in June as well, so I guess the van is for my wife, the kids, and the dawg. Who says my life isn't exciting! (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

My daily driver is a Kia Rio, bout 7 grand out the door with a 10Year/ 100K warranty and averages 34-37 mpg. I just hate to work on car because I have to, it's well worth the 140 bucks a month to me.

Also have a 1990 Mustang GT as a driver.
