Ok, most of our members here know that I build the trackbrackets C5 conversion brackets for 4th gen F-bodies. This kit was originally the Bob Bishop conversion kit, but I bought the rights from Bob (who is no longer affiliated with this product) and am building them to his standards at the same shop that perfected this manufacturing process. I would like to do a batch of either 11 or 22 sets. I'll make some phone calls to get a firm price on this batch (I have to verify the cost of aluminum). We sold the last batch for $279 on the GP. I'll post a firm price as soon as I get it. But it should be close to the last batch.
If you're interested, please post in this thread. Once we get enough buyers lined up, I'll start collecting money and hope to deliver them within 6 weeks (depending on my shop schedule) from that time. Thanks! How much do calipers and rotors cost. Once you buy everything(Lines ,pads) is i muck cheaper than the willwood kit. If it is i may be interested.

I hope you don't take this the wrong way but is there a performance or quality advantage to your brackets over the umi brackets? I was on there site and noticed that they made c5 brackets as well but for 40 ish cheaper. But i figured that if your going to all the trouble of getting these made ther must be a difference. I'd go so far as to call them an engineered design-since I know actual degreed professionals had a part in these brackets. They have also been track tested as well. Designing highly stressed parts out of aluminum is a lot more tricky than most are aware. 1) Engineered -quality fasteners held to anal tolerances (they are what holds your brakes and wheel hubs on) -The right aluminum for the job 6061-T6-corrosion resistance and long fatigue life at high temperatures with a hard anodize coating -the actual bracket itself is built around the material to minimize stress concentrations and maximize fatigue life while being light 2) Track proven -no pad taper when pushed to the limits (many steel brackets, let alone aluminum brackets, flex too much causing uneven pad wear) -they actually were tested before being sold to you! 3) Lab tested for failure Some of this stuff may not be as important to one that wants blingy brakes for the street and runs low-dusting, ceramic pads to keep their Zaino clean. |

If that's the case I'll probably use my LT1 spindles since they are straight and I wouldn't be trashing a desirable set of LS1/'98+ spindles. I did notice my LT1 spindles produce a tighter fit with the wheel hub. With the LS1's they sorta fall out of there. |

Yes, there is a right and left side, so there is only one balljoint notch per bracket and each side is slightly compensated for brake pad taper, and each side is also "directional", based on the direction of the load on that bracket. |

I switched over to these as one of my winter mods. I went from the Baer GT+ setup to the Trackbrackets to rid myself of expensive rotors and significant pad taper.
So far after about 10+ track days this year, the Trackbrackets are doing well. Very minimal pad taper (~10-25% of what the Baers had), and the car has 4 days at Summit Point, 2 at Limerock, 3 at Watkins Glen on the current set of HT-10s and they only seem to be a little less than half worn!---And the car is hauling at Summit....didn't get passed by a single car and passed almost every instructor out there at least once (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (was running in the instructor group). For those who don't know the car, its about 2900 lbs with ~475hp. Wish I had gone right to the trackbrackets years ago instead of spending $440 for replacement rotors and throwing away half worn sets of pads due to the taper from the Baer brackets. |

I have to withdraw my name from the list the wheels I have do not clear the brakes based on the cut out . also the wheels I have are around a 36 offset so spacers will push out the wheel to far. sorry

american racing 200s. They look like the old trans am mustang wheels. I think the guy that orderd them from the shop i went to got the wrong offset. but when i cut out the stencil they touched in the corner were the spokes meet the rim. the wheel is two peices welted togeather.

I think at this time im just going to wait. Sorry for the trouble I'm kind of choked. The wheels were the first thing i did to the car. I used to have mustangs and always used cobraR style wheels. I didn't really know all my options and just picked out the ones i like best at my local wheel shop. At the time i was suprised that 9.5's fit without rolling the frenders. If i did it again I'd get ss takeoffs and 17/11 zr1's for pretty much the price I paid for my wheels. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/banghead.gif)

I noticed that only two people show paid from the "non-retailer" side.

I have to do some front end work this weekend, but unless I find severely tapered pads or a totally shot hub I'll probably put off the C5 installation until winter. I'll know in a day or two. Assuming I won't need to install them right now, I could send my set to you and have Kevin ship your set to me when it's available. You'd be out one extra shipping charge, but you'd avoid wasting time and money on rebuilding what you have. Sorry to dangle a carrot that I might have to pull away, but you don't have much time and I need to do whatever I'm going to do soon too. |

My first big event is October 14 weekend and I will have no time to sort out a new brake install at this point. I think Im better off sticking with what I know for this go around. Looks like I will be doing my C5 install this winter as well. Hmm. Seems to me I had some tapering on the rears last time I looked..... I better look into that too. Thanks Sean. bock |

Anyone still interested on a spot on the already full Trackbracket GP?????
I have a spot on the Trackbracket GP and an emergency may make me have to back out. I really hate doing that and I wouldn't want to leave anyone hanging. These brakes are fantastic. In case you don't know this, factory Z06 brake pads dust like MAD. They sure do stop good though. If you're not prepared to wash your wheels every week and you like to have clean wheels be sure to select a different pad compound. I can't say enough good things about these brackets though. I get asked about them quite often around town too. Be sure to wear your seatbelt when you stomp on them the first time. It's a major improvement!
