I'm not so sure it's going to fetch $16k. I'm not saying your car is not worth it - it's a very nice car and the right person would pay it but consider this:

A stripper was low-priced at the dealership, and I know some stripper Z28s were going for less than $20k new in 1998 when I bought my A4. It too was a 1LE but with every option except 6-disc changer (wierd, I know). I paid $25,500 for it plus tax, tag, title, etc. I sold that car a little over a year ago for $7500. at 76k miles, and the car was still in good shape. While the 1LE option is rare, and it's a stripper to boot, the people who would most value that combination are competitive drivers. Now, knowing that competitive drivers either scrape cones or rub fenders... you're not likely to get a racer to buy that very nice car at that high price for competitive purposes when other similarly equipped cars, perhaps with more mileage or a few dings and scratches can be purchased for much less. Only a collector with some money to blow who appreciates the value of a 1LE stripper, and would rather blow that money on a car like yours than any other car would consider paying $16k for the car... and those people are hard to come by. You could wait a long time finding the right buyer. It's like looking for a perfect wife - Lower your standards a bit so you don't die a virgin.

At the same time, it's worth well over $10k. People who offer you $10k or less are simply desperate or unrealistic. If you think that a new no options Chevy Aveo is going for $10k, your car would blow even a new Aveo out of the water in every aspect. If I were selling it, I'd drop the price to $14k and make a deal. (I finally got married to an imperfect wife, too! (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) )

I wish you very good luck with the sale, and if I find someone willing to pay a bit more for a very nice car, I'll point them in the right direction.
