It took me maybe 90 min to get the motor down and most of that was spent
screwing around with pressure washing the bottom of the motor & car off.
I also drained the power steering, oil and radiator before starting.
There was about a gallon of water in the bottom of the crank case.

I'm gonna guess it was to make sure water did not get past the top seals of the shocks when he was pressure washing the whole deal??



Bingo! It was basically a way to protect the shock shafts from crap when the car was raced.

With all the weight you pulled out of the front of that thing, I'd have been afraid of rolling the car off the lift backwards as the last bolt dropped out. Nice. Double-flaring, or bubble-flaring as a lot of the newer cars use, is not that difficult, as long as you have the right tools.


I was a bit concerned as well but I watched the car pretty carefully as I lifted it up off the motor & trans and it stayed rock solid.

To keep debris off them. I can't remeber if they are inverted or not.


No, they are right side up. The rears were inverted.
