I just read an article on the new CTS-V release. It will be powered by a 550hp supercharged V8 based loosely on the ZR-1 corvette powerplant. Unfortunately the car will be available only with a paddle-shifted 6-speed automatic. I wish I could afford one, what a car!

I just hope that they put REALLY strong internals inside this (and the ZR1's) block. You know people are going to be throwing 1" diameter pulleys on these things and tuning (hopefully) them up to 700+ rwhp.
I wonder if the slushbox is a beefed up C6 6L80E variant, or a whole new, clean sheet of paper design. It would be cool if it were a REAL SMG type box a la the M3/6es. |
