I've been thinking the battery cutoff switch issue through as part of my battery relocation plans. What about doing an external shutoff located near the A-pillar with a pull cable to actuate the switch/key to shut it off from inside the cockpit? That way the safety crew could easily manually access it from outside the car, but you as a driver could still shut the power off from inside if you needed to.

I think you could easily fabricate a cable system with a knob and just have the knob located within reach in the dash or next to the seat, either way. You can buy bicycle cable and housings and it would be easy to weld in a couple ends and fabricate the entire affair really.
