The book says to use premium fuel (91 octane).
Anyone see any long-term affects, other than performance, of using mid-grade (89 octane)?

Uh, yea. A few secrets about that engine.

It makes 15.8 psi of boost (which is a "ton" of boost for a stock vehicle). That is NOT a typo. And, it's direct fuel injected (like a diesel) and uses 1882 psi of fuel pressure. At 15.8 psi, you WILL want to run premium in it. It's only $2.00 extra per tank to run premium, spend the money. As I remember, the one time I had to run something else in mine (station was out of premium), the mileage actually dropped a bit. It was once, and long ago, but I believe that's what I remember.
