this may be an insanely stupid question, even better that its my first post. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/cool2.gif)
i recently noticed that my regular old rubber valve stems have cracks in them, and im afraid theyre going to, or already are leaking. im interested in starting autox, or road racing (the course at englishtown.) so id like to get everything in tip top shape. i found an old thread here mentioning these types of valves: http://www.jegs.com/i/Mr.%20Gasket/720/1957/10002/-1 are these appropriate for street use? are they overkill? are there any down sides compared to regular all rubber valves? thanks in advance. |

You'll have dismount the tires to mount either. The rubber *could* be done by breaking the bead if the tire person has super small hands.
There's nothing wrong with normal rubber stems. I've never seen them crack before though. |
