I only live an hour from Daytona but it is very rare that a group will actually rent it because it is so expensive. The PBOC rented it out and I'm Solo qualified with them so I was good to go. They didn't allow any novice drivers. I have always wanted to drive Daytone and it didn't disappoint. The high banking is a hoot and I have a whole new respect for the NASCAR boys that can go 3 wide at the speeds they are running.

It rained most of the day on Sunday and during my first session I went out in the dry but ran into a torential down pour coming down the back straight. I'm running V710's so no tread and heavy rain isn't good. I took NASCAR 3&4 at a greatly reduced speed on my way to pit in and discovered that all of the rain running off the roof goes directly into the drivers door panel in that situation. I've been asked to co-drive again in the 09 One Lap of America. Lucky us daytona is on the schedule. Now its up to the owner on who/where we are driving..... I can out-drive him by a considerable margin so I hope to become the lead driver.
