Movie Maker that is part of XP is about as easy as it gets for simple cuts editing. But it's limited on what it can do.
Premeire, Pinnacle, etc. are far more feature rich. Stan ... lots of RAM and a really good video card make things go faster and smoother as does a Core Duo processor, as long as the software package can take advantage of it. But the single biggest upgrade you will need is hard disk space. Beyonf my system drive , I have a 500G and a 1T drive to store and edit. I also have a utility that defrags and runs a checkdisk on the drives regularly. The file you will be dealing with are huge and can jack up an HD pretty easy. For the lowest common denominator, so to speak, on formats is Windows Media (.wmv). File size is acceptable and will be more widely recognized |
