I remember seeing you post up that you were thinking of buying a C6... 2007 Monterey Red A6 Z51 Coupe (IMG:http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2653/3733023863_0107e037a3.jpg) and... (IMG:http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3469/3733023897_358836f0d6.jpg) The pics don't do it justice....it is VERY CLEAN! I looked for a while, and cars that looked perfect in the photos were crap in person...this car was advertised with a crappy cell phone pic and I was worried I was wasting my time going to see it....as the guy said he had no camera to take better pictures....but it was as advertised and is sweet inside and out. I got a SWEET deal on it as the guy was desperate to sell it and I was at the right place at the right time..... I LOVE IT! (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/cool2.gif) |

I wonder if the dealer would let me drive one if i roll in with the C5... (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/ph34r.gif) I'm really loving my C5. I'm like a little kid... i sit here at work just waiting for lunch to go for a drive, then i get back and i'm anxious to leave at night to go drive! |

I'm like a little kid... i sit here at work just waiting for lunch to go for a drive, then i get back and i'm anxious to leave at night to go drive! I am the same....I drive it almost every day.....and still LOOK for opportunities to drive it. I did not want a stick in it. I have the race car, so I don't need to track it, and here in the bay area traffic can be BRUTAL, so I wanted something that I could cruise in and still sit in traffic and not worry about shifting. Plus, a plus in helping me convince the wife to buy it, I let her drive it a few times a month to work, and when she wants......in THAT traffic she needs a auto. The paddle shifters are neat, you can really drive it hard and keep it in any gear like a stick...I hear it is even better if you get it programmed. I used it a lot at first, now I just use "S" for sport most of the time and let the tranny shift. It gets GREAT gas mileage.....over 19 MPG when I am sane....and that is 90% in town. On the highway I have seen over 32 MPG!. By the way....we just got back from a 10 day cruise to Alaska! Ketchikan, Haines, Juneau and Victoria.....it was 92 degrees in Haines! (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) And 80+ everywhere else! YIKES. Not much snow on them mountains either......Al Gore....where are you.... My Camaro was an auto and i love manuals, so i was always conflicted driving that car even though i loved it. haha. So, it was no accident that i bought a manual Corvette. Someday i will have a dedicated track car, but that day is not today. For now, i'm content with autocross and the occasional closed course high speed run. Mine has also been getting great mileage. I've seen it hover in the 34 range at times, usually 30-32 highway. For some reason, i've been driving slower with this vette. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) You were in the south east! They cheat, it stays a lot warmer there. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/cool2.gif) Although, it has been a little warm this summer, even in Anchorage. After the last couple crappy summers we had, i'm ok with it! It's pretty normal for the interior Alaska areas to see 80s. |
