I got to witness the aftermath of a lift incident one day at a Mercedes dealership. I had stopped by to see a friend who was a mechanic there and he showed me a Mercedes that had two torn open holes one in each drivers side doors. This was a brand new car that one of the numbnuts mechanics was prepping for delivery. It was a twin post lift and this guy only set the pads on the passenger side and then proceeded to lift the car with his back to it. One of the other mechanics saw it when it was about four feet off the ground and got numbnuts attention. It was being supported by the doors on the drivers side and the lift points on the passenger side. Can you imagine having to explain to the customer why they couldn't deliver their new car.
