Hey guys,
Want to match up the hei, spark plug wires, and MSD 6AL Box. Whats the best style, gauge wire etc for this application with headers. Thanks for the recommendation (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) |

Whats your intended use for the car? If its HPDE or racing of any kind routing under the valve cover is great for avoiding the headers, although its a royal pain in the ass to diagnose a burnt wire and replace should you burn one. I run HPDE and TT and run the wires over the valve cover and use DEI wire sleeve and these

I don't think you can go wrong with a thicker wire with headers for the protection (8mm or thicker), but ensure you insulate them and keep them from contacting the headers. MSD is a great brand, and I like the moroso's as well. I have a MSD 6al with MSD wires and stock coil. This has worked great for years as long as I keep them off the headers on an LT1. |

Thanks for the advise. My motor is on the engine stand. I have a universal set of MSD in which Im going to give the under the header a try. Can't wait to get motor in car. You guys have a great season. |

I have a universal set of MSD in which Im going to give the under the header a try. Do yourself a HUGE favor and DON'T run the wires under the headers. IF you have centerbolt valve covers (assuming you do) get some spark plug holders from Made for You Products and do what I did shown below...
