I think it's a Prius conspiracy to remove us and our fuel guzzling monsters (or so they think). I had one viciously attack the back of my tow rig at a light a few months ago. She had stopped (I usually watch traffic behind me to make sure I'm not about to get smacked by someone) and I was just waiting on a green when I felt a "thump". It actually felt like when your foot slips off of the clutch in a manual and you have the brakes on. I laughed and thought that I hadn't done that in a while...reached up to start the engine (and the starter didn't engage) and then noticed the tach hovering at 600 rpm or so. I also remembered that my truck happens to be an automatic. I looked in the right side mirror and didn't see anything. I looked in the rear view mirror and didn't see anything. I then looked in the drivers side mirror and I see a prius headlight just sticking out past the rear fender. We pulled over and hopped out and she explained that her foot slipped off of the brake. It wiped some dirt off of my monster 12,000 lb drawbar and left a hitch ball shaped hole punched in her bumper cover. She said it was obviously her fault, we shook hands and went on our way.
I think she was really just sucked in by the gravitational pull of my personal battle cruiser. |
