This is going to be my next camaro/ race car if i can ever make the jump. Modifieds like these ran at limerock in 2010/2011 the pole time for the race was 53.009 by comparison a corvette c6-R runs a lap at 50.178 and a spec miata 1.02 so I think one these cars squared up could be real quick and pretty cheap to build and maintain compared to some other road race stuff. Look at the pick below the bumper even says camaro.

hell yes, 2300lbs 650hp= big ass happy face when driving. She's 5' 10", 110 lbs, is fun to ride, but is ugly (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) I've day dreamed and went as far as sketching and starting to CAD model my version of a freak car like this, but it would have to look better than that. I'm thinking something like a 29ish or 32ish Ford Coupe syle, body parts made from hand banged aluminum sheet, no fenders. Fit and finish would be rat rod roughness but follow an engineered theme throughout (1000's of rivets showing etc). No paint, just bare aluminum finish and use scotch brite and WD40 to keep it looking 'nice'. The bare steel cage/chassis would have a coat of clear on it. LS engine, C5 rear axle and either a C5 T56 or a Jerico trans, and some other trick stuff. |
