Using the tools and talent God gave you ... We can all stand in judgement about how a person uses those tools and why. But in the end, each of us uses what was given us to the best of our ability. And I certainly don't know how Mario and Carroll uses(d) the proceeds from those stints with advertising. But I bet that many other benefited from it, not just the Shelby or Andretti family.
I grew up watching Mario and lost all respect for him and AJ Foyt as drivers during post crash interviews after the 82 Indy 500. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k33sBpPsAu0 Of course, Sam Posey didn't wait till he was in his 80s to be a moron and jerk. The point? We all have heros and goats. God speed, condolences to the Shelby family and by all means use your time wisely. On a side note, hasn't racing TV coverage come a long way? |
