Order being accepted either tonight or tomorrow! My brother already has his WRX donor car and will probably start taking it apart pretty soon.
I still can't believe what they have designed for only $10,000 for the kit, plus whatever you can get a kit for, most likely going to be $15K finished. 265 hp stock, easily upgraded to over 300 hp, mid engine, 1800 lbs. It's going to be a killer on the track. Who's building on? I was going to until I decided to build a CMC car. I'm looking forward to helping my brother with his next year when he gets his kit. There are definitely going to be some changes made to it before the first kit is shipped out some time towards the middle of next year. As far as the body, I agree it's not my favorite, but it's still pretty damn cool. Plus, what kind of car looks like that for $15000? I think the weight is pretty good. How does a Miata weigh 2400 lbs? Even an Elise is 1900 lbs. 1800 lbs ain't bad.
I really hope they come out with a hard top version. I don't care for open tops. The 5 speed has been covered to death on the forums. It isn't going to be an issue. I know it's considered weak, but that's in a full size sedan with an insane amount of traction. This light, RWD car isn't going to have an issue until you start putting insane power. Have you seen how fast Elise's are with 300 hp? I just hope FFR gets the suspension right. |
