I did enjoy it! How much power weight is your AI Camaro? LS1, right? I love the sounds it makes.

My 130k+ mile ls1 finally gave way last year so I replaced it with a cheap junkyard 5.3 (lm4). I swapped the cam out for an ASA cam and changed valve springs and put it in the car. It makes 333 rwhp and the car weighs 3284 with me (240 lbs) and a full tank of gas. I'm still down 30 hp but intend on pulling weight as opposed to making more power. I've still got, amongst other things, the factory hatch and glass which accounts for a significant amount of weight and I could stand to lose about 30 lbs myself. |

Do you mind me asking how many miles and how much you paid for the engine? I wish CMC rules would allow us to use the iron 5.3. People are picking up complete engines for less than $500, and about double that for the Aluminum block 5.3. LT1's and LS1's are hard to find and the price is through the roof. |

The lm4 is an aluminum block but comes with the 862 heads instead of the more desired 799 heads that come on the more expensive l33 motor. You just have to drill a hole in the block for the dipstick, and swap to the ls1 windage tray, oilpan, and intake. The motor I got was out of a 2004 Buick rainier. On that motor the water temp sensor and the oil pressure sensor were not compatable with my 98 harness. This post has been edited by athornt2: Jun 20 2013, 01:31 AM |

Keeps me motivated to work on my CMC Camaro. |
