Hey guys,

I recently started autocrossing my 2000 camaro ss. I want to get more competitive but I will not run any class formally, I just want to have fun and beat my own best time.

Currently, Im looking to buy wheels and tires because my current tires are getting old and they are 275/40/17 all-season kumhos. I want to upgrade to either a nt05 or bfg rival. What I cant decide is if I should go to a 18x10.5 because I prefer the looks and run a 295 tire all around or stay with stock wheels and run 275 nt05's all around. Which would you guys choose and why?

Thanks, look forward to becoming part of the community

Get as big of tire under the car as you can. 315's would be even better if you want to go fast.

TRUE, but if these are also going to be his street wheels/tires as well(??), the 295s on 18s he wants to run might be a better choice due to less; tramlining issues, rubbing/clearance issues, and spacer issues. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Thanks for the replies, I think i'll be going with a 295 KDW 2 or Proxes 1 all around. I decided that the nt05 and the rival only last about a year to a year and a half which would make tires too expensive for me. In the mean time, ive been trying to find a used set of wheels with tires 17x11 or 18x10.5 with no luck, most seem to run staggered setups, let me know if anyone has some for sale with good tires
