Hey guys,

I recently started autocrossing my 2000 camaro ss. I want to get more competitive but I will not run any class formally, I just want to have fun and beat my own best time.

Currently, Im looking to buy wheels and tires because my current tires are getting old and they are 275/40/17 all-season kumhos. I want to upgrade to either a nt05 or bfg rival. What I cant decide is if I should go to a 18x10.5 because I prefer the looks and run a 295 tire all around or stay with stock wheels and run 275 nt05's all around. Which would you guys choose and why?

How much of a difference in ultimate grip will there be if I stayed with 275/40/17's instead of going to a 295/35/18?

Not enough to justify switching to all new wheels. Also if you are taking about going to c5z wheels you will need all new studs and spacers.

If I get new wheels, they would be OEWheels 18x10.5 C6 Z06 DD wheels all around so that should fit fine from what I've read. It looks like I can get a 275/17 NT05 for 584 shipped which is not bad at all, might be the best option.
